Actually, as global temperatures rise, storm intensity becomes greater. More hurricanes, more torrential summer rains, and... uh, yeah...more snow....
sorry about that.

Ya know, Airstreams look like they’re comfortable in the snow, they blend right in. And when you are inside one with the furnace going, they’re really comfortable. Keep warm everyone and have a happy holiday!

An oddity
According to the news last evening, the only signifigant snow falling in the country at that moment was in south Texas. Kenedy, TX, about 2 1/2 hours south of here, had 5" of the white stuff and Houston had enough to build snowmen. We had none.
After a week of predicting record lows of 11 degrees in the Hill Country for last night, it was 28 degrees here at 7am this morning. I had re-winterized the trailer, but 28 degrees is hardly low enough to need it.
Right now, it is sunny and probably 50 degrees with not a breath of wind. There are 6 does browsing on my front lawn and a mocking bird and a cardinal are taking turns at bashing their beaks against the tinted upper window in my office.
It is just 15 days before we use the trailer again for the Mid-Winter IBT meeting at Montgomery, TX.

-6 in Akron, Ohio Christmas morning.
We are visiting the kids for Christmas. Looks like Wednesday will be a good day to head back south.
Will pickup wife's prescriptions and then look for a good weather window to head for the valley. Mission, Texas ; here we come.
News article said Victoria, Texas had first snowfall at Christmas in 86 years.

It seems like the weather goes from one extreme to another! Today right now at 6:31 p.m. the temp is 59.8°F in our little town. This being January I would expect it to be more like it was when I started this thread.

**How Cold is it?**
This evening at 5:00 p.m. here in Anna, IL, it was 66 degrees; and when we returned from Vienna, IL at 7:30 p.m., it was still 62 degrees. From near blizzard conditions just before Christams, to flooding rains last week, to a forecast of severe thunderstorms for tomorrow.

To a return to arctic temps by the weekend again with potential for some more falling slippery in between. What a roller coaster ride!

**How Cold is it?**
Far Southern Illinois forecast for today is 70 degrees with Flood Watches for areas near the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers as well as their tributaries. Then, tonight we are being prepared for severe thunderstorms that may include tornados.

Wednesday Jan. 12 2:31 p.m. it's 68.4°F in North East KY. All I can say is let's go camping! However, I may have a different opinion after tomorrow night.

I suppose I should state that these are temps for the Twin Cities metro area, since location information is not currently available under our avitars.

-23F this morning on the way to work in Calgary, Alberta. Had to drop the Expedition off at the shop for a new thermostat, since it wasn't getting much heat...

Makes our teen's predicted for tonight sound balmy. (Mid Missouri) (I miss those locations on our posts too.) I'll stop complaining!

Verrrry Cold
Yep, the temp is dropping here in Minnesota. Still we have very little snow in Minneapolis/St. Paul. The most that fell this year was 8/10ths of an inch yesterday. The storms pass by north and south of us. I doubt we will get much this year. I need 6 inches on the ground to burn my timber pile and I got snowshoes for Christmas. That just about guarantees no snow.
