Homecoming - Any Drummers?

Looking forward to the Homecoming in a few days. Who's all going?
1) Has anyone set up a way we Airstream Forum folks can meet face to face?

2) Any musicians in the gathering? Any one into drum circles? I can join in - but not lead. I have a few drums and other instruments I can bring - if there is an interest.. please let me know. Reply here or email me at airstreamguy@mac.com.. I will be leaving and heading towards JC Saturday Morning.

3) Looking forward to meeting everyone!

4) Rainbow family members - be sure to stop by...

Safe travels everyone....

John

It's about time!

I've been waiting on someone to post something about the homcoming for a while now. I'll be there the entire time. Most of the days I'll be working at the Paul Sherry exhibit, but I will have my '72 Ambassador set up in the VIP section and I have been known to play a little accoustic guitar. Active words "a little". I strum my way through a wide variety of folk and classic rock songs, but I'm amateur level at best. I have to have the perfect mixture of blood and MGD for optimal performance.

Great news!

There will be Buttons! As some of you know, If I attend a rally and there are going to be forum members I normally have a button that has been designed especially for that rally. These buttons are available to forum members by simply introducing yourself to me or one of my forum friends. I will not be there until Friday, but Rich has graciously offered to be my distributor for the early part of the rally.

He will also have buttons that say "I saw Vintage Thunder"

So look him up and introduce yourself. If you see other folks wearing a forum button, say "Hi!" and introduce yourself. It is always interesting to put a face with a name.

Please post here if you plan to attend so I have an Idea of how many to make , I hate running out. See ya there!

Drum circle? Rainbow Family? Those are 2 phrases I wouldn't associate with Airstream Homecoming. A truly big tent we have here. Hope you find your soulmates there.

Ok, call me a newbie, but maybe turtle is right. Can we clarify exactly what the "Rainbow Family" is for sure? I was in the navy and my ship got stuck in Key West for two weeks...I know what THEIR idea of a Rainbow Family is. I'm hoping it's not the same thing.

Rainbow Family is a movement of folks who have community gatherings celebrating peace and spirituality. The gatherings are oriented to New Age interests, so drumming circles would be a common activity. Rainbow Family doesn't have a formal organization, so it's a bit hard to describe. However, it isn't formally associated with either the Rainbow Coalition or any gay activist groups--though probably most participants support those causes.

It doesn't sound like John expected Homecoming to be like a RF gathering, rather I think he just wanted to find fellow enthusiasts and to form a drumming circle. John--now that it's over, did you have any luck?

Oh, gorgeous button, Brett! Wish we could have been there!

Mary

Interesting this looks like the same artwork on the keychains I gave away last year at the Moraine View rally. I had those made by a guy on Ebay.

I think Brett can supply an image of that. I'm sitting in Vintage Thunder right now (courtesy parking in Michigan) and I can see that we gave away most of the 65 or so buttons that were made. We gave a LOT of tours!

I used the same clip art on a rally registration form too...it's available online, for free.
