Oooo....that sounds appealing!

I haven't decided yet where I am going to go when I leave Oregon in mid September.

Perhaps a meander down the coast...

So as we sat there against the railing, Oceana Dunes, for free and ate lunch we talked about how cool it would be to drive on the beach. So we paid our 5 bucks and did it.

SUPER COOL .

As fun as we thought.

Beautiful!

One of our most cherished memories was driving out onto the beach and camping at Padre Island NS.

Nothing quite like it.

A stop at a great eatery. Sherman's Deli, Palm Springs CA. This isn't what we ate but great choices of sweets.

Be sure to have a date shake if you are still near Palm Springs. A real local treat.

Just had a lovely trip to the beach and SeaWorld. Had a great time. Along with the excitement of seeing new things traveling also helps you appreciate where you are from.

Felt like we were seeing the budget constraints in CA. San Diego roadways were in quite poor repair. Curbs buckling, pot holes big enough to swallow tires and water on the beach rinse station turned off. (draught conservation). Parking lots with tiny parking stalls and the shortest off and on ramps. But beautiful and relaxing.

A two story Target with a cool escalator for your shopping cart. Had to get extra beach supplies.

Seeing things thru the eyes of a 2 & 4 yr old is do much fun.

Flamingos at SeaWorld.

We are meandering to the vast and windy Midwest, or so it seems the last two days.

Paying for turnpike travel hmmmm, not sure why but it's the most direct route and a smooth road. Just stopped at one of this center island turnpike rest stops. Pretty fancy.

That's what we felt like as we rushed inside to find those special rooms.

Great signs! Where exactly was that?

That's one of the reasons I love traveling with the Airstream. I just need to pull off the road and walk about 20 feet to get to a clean rest room.

Kansas north bound on (pay for travel road) 35. They have theses neat little rest stops in the center island. Little city's (like Love's truck stops)

Also had these Lays Chips. Never seen this flavor, sounds interesting.

It's an iconic flavor in the South, but never saw it in a potato chip...

Looks like biscuit and milk gravy with sausage is what they are trying for. Very strange.

Breakfast-flavored potato chips, basically.

Would like to try those. Could be gross or great IMO. All kinds of regional chips:

[Hit Previous/Next under the images.]

STAX Bacon and Cheddar Potato Skins . . .
Chile Limon chips . . .
Tapatio Limon chips . . .

Your mouth watering yet?

Yep, we just passed a potato chip plant/distribution center. The Limon ones I've had. Good.

A beautiful Memorial Day morning in middle America where you don't have to apologize for your patriotism. (Not that we do)
