Hiring a mover for trailer

We are not yet in the position to take vacations longer than about 3 weeks. We are thinking it would be fun to go see Canada's Maritime Provinces, but we live in San Diego. It would be at least a 5 day drive each way (we don't do well with over 500 miles in a day). Friends in New Hampshire have suggested that we could have a professional mover drive our car and Basecamp out to their place and drop them off, then we could fly out and start our vacation from there. And we could do the inverse at the end of the trip.

If you have done this, how did you find the driver? And was it a boon or a nightmare for you? Are there sites for professional movers? Any better ideas other than just bite the bullet and do the drive ourselves? We would want to ask them not to use our trailer, but we'd still have to trust them to treat the car and trailer kindly so the thought is a bit scary.

We have used a site called UShip several times. All good results...
