Help, ID a year for a Sovereign

Recently saw a Sovereign that will be coming up for sale soon and would like to know how to ID the year.

Couple of ways...post a picture here or the VIN number. Depending on the general year will decide which secret VIN Decoder we need to use You can find the Pre 1980 here and the post 1981.

If'n my memory serves me , the serial # is L 308 J 285. That would make this unit a Landyacht, 30', 1968, built in Jackson Center, Ohio, #285. Would this be correct? I'll try to get some photos this weekend.

Dave,
The first letter should be an "I" or an "O" given that you probably have a International 30' 1968 twin beds, made in Jackson Center.
