My wife and I are going to Hawaii first part of 08 for a much needed vacation, and I was wondering if any fellow Airstreamers lived there or had a place there and would like us to come visit.

If this works out you would have a place to visit in Western North Carolina!
Richard -- Each island is a county, but separated by more water than you can imagine. Which island(s) are you going to? Some tent camping is available but challenging if you would put up with beach life. There's a little bit of back country backpacking or cabins (Haleakala, Mauna Kea summit or Waialeale) if you arrange long in advance and can overcome the kamaaina-serving permit system. There is a very organized hiking club on Oahu.
We've got a variety of members who've posted from but don't necessarily list HI as their home state. It remains that they must voluntarily respond to this thread -- I cannot "out" them or speak for them. Vonnegut's concept of 'false karass' comes to mind here. You will undoubtedly find a great time. If you're getting there before March you will be in prime humpback viewing season -- be sure and take a whalewatch boat from Lahaina or Kona if you find yourself there.

The Luhr family, of Airstream Life, are in Hawaii now and are blogging their travels there while on vacation. You can check out their information at this location. They have been there several days now.
