Thumbs up Hat's off to "AirForums"

Hopefully what I am about to say is in the "proper forum", however, with that said, I find this forum/organization rather amazing!

For starters I am a "newbie" to AS life/living/activity etc. etc. Yet I am not a "newbie" when it comes to "on line forums". My wife would add that I am "plugged into my computer all the time"!

After nearly a month of AS ownership (2016 Sport 22FB) I believe I can find my way around this forum with out too much problem.

Today, the thought jumped off the page that this "resource" is really, really special.

Considering the longevity of AS on the road plus the fact that several members (no doubt) have been "attached" to these vehicles for many years...and perhaps even decades the level of "civility and the willingness to help" some one new is literally "off the chart".

Every other forum that I have ever been part of seems to take "pleasure" in "burning" new member questions. Using words that I don't have in my personal vocabulary the "newbie" is chastised beyond belief. Not so with Air Forums!

In the short time I've been a member of this forum I have read a number of post by new members that must have been asked hundreds of times. Yet, "every response" I've read is met with "cordiality and very helpful information regarding the subject". THANK YOU FORUM MEMBERS!

Incidentally, I learned along time ago to "Google my questions and concerns about a subject at hand" and always find the "path" to the needed answers . With the "connection" between Google/Air Forums...."it's a perfect combination".

I know that I can't speak for anyone else....but I would guess.....I would hope that other new members of this forum have "picked up on this outstanding level of support.

Thanks again

Great post R Patrick. I also have been involved in other forums & I learned early on that Air Forums is not about criticizing but more about educating. In my year here & over 700 posts I've learned that if you ask & are respectful you'll get help.

We welcome all here. Each one of us was "New" at one time and we want all members, especially new members, to feel free to ask questions with out fear of derision.

Welcome

RPatrick,

Yes, this forum is much more supportive than others. People, by and large, are here to help. You will get many suggestions here, your job will be to make sense of all of them.

RPatrick O'Brien, wow that sounds Irish.

Aftermath, RAllen O'Brien, or Richard O'Brien or simply Dick O'Brien

I think you'll find that when you take it offline and get a chance to visit with other Airstreamers on the road, they are just as awesome in person. You may see a lot of folks debating about the value of the WBCCI, or how old fashioned some of their ways are, but one thing you will not know until you actually meet some members is that they are, at least in my experience, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Same goes for nearly everyone I've met at forum rallies over the years. Airstreamers just have a great attitude about life and living it, and that really comes across in how they treat other people.

Nice post, but I think the thanks need to go to the "Average" Airstream owner, different in many ways from other folks, owning an Airstream does make one part of a "club", whether official or not. Also I believe a big thanks to the moderators. The mods keep things moving along when necessary and shut threads or posts down when not moving along as per Airstream Forum decorum.
