Happy St. Patrick's Day
Tomorrow is St. Paty's Day, so I would like to say Happy St, Patrick's Day to all of you on the Forum.
What are your plans for St. Paty's day?

Why, thank you. And let me be the first to return the sentiment.
I will be working (at work, naturally), and we are not allowed to deviate from company issue clothing (read: no green clothing). Hopefully I will leave early enough to drink some green beer afterward.

Did I read what I think I read??? I thought Airstreams were supposed to make us more attractive..... . No wonder they're smart enough in Eire to avoid over-indulging on St Paddy's day!!
With thanks to Nana Black for passing on the gift of blarney!!

O'Hara's
Thirty-third and third? They don't quite have the St. Paddy's parade like they used to... darn!
I was at O'Hara's last night making my NCAA B-Ball selections. Green? NEVER touch the stuff!! (BTW - they microbrew their own these days!) If Hamm's was still around I'm sure that's the light lager they'd put the green dye into...

DavidH -- You recall when O'Hara's still had the WWII surplus 1-story barracks building? It was a combined convenience store & bar. Sid & Cecil didn't last much past that period. That was replaced by the current building in the late '70's.
All the snow went through the southern Cities this week -- combined at least 20 inches. I haven't even shoveled -- maybe 3" early in the week and 2" last night.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!
Remember:
A trout in the pot is better than a salmon in the sea.
The longest road out is the shortest road home.
If you have one pair of good soles, it is better than two pairs of good uppers.
It's no use carrying an umbrella if your shoes are leaking.
"You'll never plough a field by turning it over in your mind."
"Every patient is a doctor after his cure."
"It's no use boiling your cabbage twice."
"You must crack the nuts before you can eat the kernel."
Irish proverbs
An Irishman is the only man in the world who will step over the bodies of a dozen naked women to get to a bottle of stout.
Unknown
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields and, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Irish Blessing
-A stranger is a friend you just haven´t met before!-
unknown irish saying
What's Irish and stays out at night?
Paddy O'Furniture!
Why do people wear shamrocks on St. Patrick's day?
Real rocks are too heavy!!
What do you get when you cross poison ivy with a four-leaf clover?
A rash of good luck!!!
From Reader’s Digest – March 2006
An Irishman's Philosophy
In life, there are only two things to worry about-
Either you are well or you are sick.
If you are well, there is nothing to worry about,
But if you are sick, there are only two things to worry about-
Either you will get well or you will die.
If you get well, there is nothing to worry about,
But if you die, there are only two things to worry about-
Either you will go to heaven or hell.
If you go to heaven, there is nothing to worry about.
And if you go to hell, you’ll be so busy shaking hands with all your friends
You won’t have time to worry!
Here’s to a long life and a merry one, A quick death and an easy one’ A pretty girl and an honest one, A cold beer and another one!
An Irishman is never drunk as long as He can hold onto one blade of grass and not fall off the face of the earth.

Erin Go Bragh--Ireland Forever!
To your health on those lovely beverages--slainte (no need for red karma that's a gaelic blessing mods honest here's the link). Room temperature is very good.
I love that dear old place, its wonderful to go for a visit, folks are very friendly and welcoming cead mille failte (thousands of welcomes). Mom's family was from Co. Westmeath (long ago) and it looks a lot like Michigan, lots of water, flatter land, though not as many trees.
