Guh -

Wiarton Willy predicted the same thing.

However... Balzac Billy in Alberta predicted an early spring.

Oh well - if I can't start camping early, then I can get some more use out of the skis.

Grounhug Day

In Michigan today he would not have seen his shadow. It doesn't matter however as we always have at least 8 to 10 more weeks of winter. More in the Northern parts of the Great Lakes State. Can't wait for spring.....Tim

Saw the article (courtesy of aarp), looked outside, saw the blowing snow, and suddenly felt like shooting a groundhog. Argh.

goofy ol groundhog

80 degrees here in Corpus today, but thunderstorms on the horizon it seems. And if that goofy groundhog messes up our rally in Goliad next weekend I'm going huntin'

Groundhog Day 20th Anniversary

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Bill Murray/Andie MacDowell film Groundhog Day shot in, and around, the town of Woodstock in Northern Illinois.
Woodstock Willie did not see his shadow this morning in the foggy Woodstock Square so Spring is on the way.
Last year at this time we had 22 inches of snow overnight. Considering it’s been about 10 degrees above average all this winter this seems like a safe bet.

Tom

Those durn groundhogs destroy my garden every summer. Probably the most destructive pest around. But the 12 gauge takes care of that. Sal.

I think I've heard of winter. It's that thing they have in other places where frozen water falls, right? And it gets really cold, like below 45 F?

Weird....
