There's nothing wrong with the math; it's not fake. Here, I'll lay it out:
Human CO2 production = 35 gigatons (35,000,000,000 tons) per year
Volcanic output ranges from .13 gigatons (130,000,000 tons)
to .44 gigatons (440,000,000 tons) per year.
35,000,000,000 / 130,000,000 = 269.2 which I rounded to 270
35,000,000,000 / 440,000,000 = 79.5 rounded to 80
Perhaps my phrasing was confusing. If I had said that human CO2 production was 80 to 270 times more than volcanic CO2 output, rather than volcanic output being 80 to 270 times less than human production, would that have been clearer to you? Same numbers, same math, just a different way of stating the result. My apologies.
