The guy parked in Wallmart must have camped with the fellow I ran in to a few years ago.
I was working for a rental RV outlet and one day I was called upon to do a demo walk thru for a visiting family from Germany. I spent quite some time explaining how everything operates in the RV including which systems operate on 12VDC and which ones operate on 110VAC. I was now outside explaining the fresh water tank fill, waste tanks outlet and sewer hose hookup and also the location and function of the coach and chassis batteries. When I got to showing him where the gasoline and propane tanks are and how to fill them the husband quite honestly asked me where the tank for the electricity was located. I thought that maybe he meant the battery and I pointed out that I had already showed him it and had explained how it recharges either by driving from the engine alternator or from the shore power when plugged in at the campground. He said he understood that but was looking for the tank for the electricity so that before he left the campground fof the days travel he could "fill up the electricity" so that the microwave and A/C would be available during travel. I really didn't know how to respond to this request but asked him if he knew how electricity works. This was not a language problem he was fluent in English and actually thought there should be a storage tank for the 110VAC. He began to berate us for renting him a substandard RV that was not fully equipped for travel. I then asked him if he had a tank like that in his house in Germany and his response was that due to the fact the house did not move a tank was not needed. I handed him back to my manager and one of our customer service reps who spoke German and let them try and explain the basic laws of electricity to him. I don't think he ever fully understood it.
Although not related to Airstreams still very funny.

Honestly... this is true.
My Ex-wife and I were Truck Camping over in Death Valley in 2003 and I saw a Polished Airstream... an old one... with the 10 piece end caps, or whatever they are..
We walked over and I stood transfixed in admiration..
I told her how I loved these and how I wanted one, and they did a Motorhome like its, and, and, and, and ... I bubbled oven with excitement.
She said Motorhomes were for old peple, and it it was stupid and ugly...
Suddenly, I realized that she had walked off in a mood..
Puzzled, walked after her... she was all grumpy, and didnt want to talk about it or go back.
I was puzzled...
Later, she spat out what she was upset about..

She said that she felt she looked fat in the reflection.....

I was starting to point out that the bodyside is convex, so she actually would look..................
My mouth nearly hung me again.
The marriage lasted less than a year... and i now own one!

That's funny. I saw the pics. It is a little overkill...

I always wanted to take some little tiny car, and put a really big engine, or maybe 2 engines in and pull something around.

The other fun thing would be to pull an airstream with a Boss Hoss trike. If anything, I want to get a Geo Metro and put a train horn in it.

It'd be funny to see you hook your rig up to pull a 4' utility trailer, but that'd just be ridicoulous, right?

Lady: "Have you had it smogged yet and what size engine does it have?"

Me: "IT'S A TRAILER; IT DOESN'T HAVE AN ENGINE."

Superviser: "You need to bring your trailer to this office for a physical VIN check verification."

Me: "Your parking lot is so small I barely found a place to park my Navigator; Where will I ever park my tow vehicle and trailer at 44' long?"

Superviser: "You have to bring it here."

Note: Form states that an officer of peace can do a VIN verification.

Me: Brought back VIN verification form signed by Lakewood Sheriff.

Superviser: "Who verified this VIN?"

Me: "A Lakewood Sheriff."

Superviser: "He didn't fill out this section in the middle of the page."

Me: "The section in the middle of the page is for engine identification for motorhomes, THIS IS A TRAILER, IT DOESN'T HAVE AN ENGINE."
