O.K. but all I get is "silver reflective paint" for the exterior. I want/need to know who supplied the paint? Was it Alsacorp? This is what I want to do my coach with above the belt line and below the reflective white hat. Enquiring minds .....

I wonder if they come with a tow package? Bambi or Safari?

See the news media for yourself:

Go to: Media.Ford.com:
On the left section Jump To
select media kits "FORD"
select model "airstream concept"

"Playing to win in the growing crossover segment, Ford has joined with another iconic company to showcase how it could further expand its lineup of expressive crossovers with the Ford Airstream Concept"

Fuel cells do have exhaust: it is water vapor.

You know, I realize water vapor is a lot better than carbon monoxide, but I wonder if 100 years from now people will be saying about the fuel cell what we say about the internal combustion engine of 100 years ago when it was considered to be the "clean" alternative to horse poop.

I mean if we replace all the cars in Atlanta or Orlando or Miami with water vapor belching fuel cell powered vehicles during rush hour, what will that do to the humidity levels? If we do that to Phoenix, what impact will that have on the arid desert environment? How will that effect that bi-om? Will we still screw up the environment only in a different way? I know these rhetorical questions have an answer that is much better than leaving things the way we have them now, but my point is that no matter what we do shy of going solar, we will have an impact, most likely negative, on our environment as long as we have automobiles and rush hour traffic.

On a positive note, I think this would make the most aesthetically pleasing toad you would ever see behind a Classic Airstream Motor Home, don't you?

When I first heard about this I thought maybe it was going to be a B campervan. Oh well. I guess I don't see the point of having an Airstream connection.

If you take it to CanAm it will! They can probably make a tri-cycle pull a 34' Classic.

That side window visibility has to rock! What rock? I can't see!

This is only a concept vehicle, so... just enjoy. But did you notice the bigger hoorah for the Chevy Volt that doesn't even have a feasible battery at this point?

Yes, it is. I see where it looks like it can sleep two, but what is that thing that looks like an EPS manifold from Star Trek?

Ford Airstream Crossover B Van

Just caught a report on the new Ford/Airstream concept car on THE BIG IDEA show (CNBC) with Danny Deutch. Looks really cool and apparently is generating a lot of buzz. Lots of praise by the host and Ford rep for the Airstream brand/icon.

Maybe Thor is on to something. They may turn AS branding into a cash cow like Harley Davidson. They make more money on their merchandise than they do selling their motorcycles!

Thor is gonna start slapping AS on everything! Skis, bikes, skates, what else?

Disco

Heh, get WITH it! They're gonna have a WBCCI disco ball (or is that Margarita ball) mounted in the cabin and lava lights.

I know I'm in the minority here, but every picture I've seen of the AS inspired Ford makes me gag! It takes ugly to a new level. Redefines Goofy looking. Makes me want to buy a Aztec.

I have not seen the AS inspired Ford, but if it makes you want to buy an Aztec (THE ugliest car on the market, IMHO), I don't think I want to see it.
