Yep because 5/10,000 parts of atmospheric CO2 is when it becomes a magic gas.

Wow, Lagonda in 3.5 yrs of membership this is your first post. That seems a very restrained and patient person. Don't worry the way the thread is headed it will get shut down soon enough.[emoji631]

Hi from Canada. Would anyone know the proper protocol on flags, in a campground when in another country. Canada/USA. I would like to show proper respect for your flag and still show i am from Canada. Thks

Thank you for your courtesy.

Have you read the sources linked in Posts #17 and #30? On one pole, the US flag should be above the Canadian flag, I believe. If on separate poles of equal height, the US flag is on the right, I think, not sure.

Fly it proud as far as I'm concerned. One look at your flag and license plates should give anyone all the information they need and should not take it as disrespectful in the least. I hope to get up your way for the cooler weather soon.

We’re also very thankful to the many, many folks that welcomed us so kindly and we always do our best to give back to them and to others that we meet on our travels and at home - we live in a Seattle suburb. I see nothing wrong with flying the flag! On the contrary, I find that so patriotic and so American, and that’s why we do it too. Those who made a face towards you were just idiots and, in my opinion, not representative of the folks who live in the Seattle area at all. Shame on them! We have many friends here in the Pacific Northwest and not one of them would do anything like that. That’s just my experience living here for the past couple of decades. Happy travels you all!! Please do visit Washington state because it’s breathtaking.

Flying the flag at every campsite unless we’re just overnighting or not unhooking. Did it at home as well.

Proud to be an American 🇺🇸

Fly em' both on two staffs.

Reasonable Americans will be cool with that, and unreasonable Americans don't matter.

That is most definitely the best flag setup I’ve seen!! Fantastic. I am going to do my best to imitate this in some way...

Seattle is a mess, not worth going through or visiting the place.

Born there in 1944, lived there up until 2015 when we had enough of the politicians and protestors and the extreme liberal agenda...and the out of control homeless, dirty unkempt neighborhoods and parks. Bad unrepaired roads, traffic mess every day. We moved north to Anacortes (port for the San Juan Islands), and bought a beautiful place with great sea views....including a place (in case we bought - our first trailer-the AS 2016 27' Serenity). And we did. Life is good now.

I don't willingly go into Seattle at all, only have to pass through on the freeway heading south to someplace nice. More disgusting each time through.

Yah, that is my rant, against the 'sanctuary city' and activist city council. No recommendation for anyone to see the place. Go around it.

I think the key here is your comment "I can only imagine". If you start letting your imagination make you sad, where is it going to end?

After reading your comment "This is a big part of why we are moving out of this beautiful state." I'm thinking this could well be a case of confirmation bias.

This thread has become decidedly political which I understand to be forbidden here. Promoting divisiveness has no place in an Airstream community forum.

Yeah, bloody Canadians, that want to fly their own flag!.....and higher than the Old Glory. As the 51st state of the Union, Trump should teach those yobo's some manners!

Cheers

Which is great in Canada, not so much in America.

I thought there were 57 states?

Maybe they shook their heads at the OP for some other reason. Maybe he didn’t yield when merging, a passenger was picking their nose, or something like that. Might of had nothing at all to do with the flag or Oregon at all.

Sometimes when I pass an old person going too slow, they speed up to 80 to try and prevent me from passing. It never works, and I always shake my head when I do pass and they slow back down to 50. They might think it’s because I don’t like their bumper sticker or their truck (or car) but it’s just because they drive badly.

Had a steel pole capped and sleeved before setting in in concrete at home. Fly one flag despite other “heritage” possibilities because this is the country of my allegiance. See nothing wrong with other flags being flown as we are proudly a nation of mutts so long as the US flag is higher when it’s flown.

Will be the first season we have a flagpole mount on the AS thanks to a forum member who makes them custom for our rigs. Before that we just used zip-ties on basic Home Depot flag kits.

Like my family, the country is imperfect and I have an uncle I don’t like but I wouldn’t trade my family for any other and same for my country. Fly the flag if you like but don’t feel like you have to or should. But if you do, please fly it in a manner that won’t get the fabric dirty, torn or abused.

It's more complex.

I am not proud of the behavior of our elected officials and many of the militaristic tendencies of our government. Disrespect for our flag is often the result. Blind obedience to a flag is not patriotic, it is the opposite. We have to question the actions of our government. In my opinion our patriotism is being squandered by our politicians.
