Fluffernutter Sandwiches versus Your Favorites

SteveSueMac somewhere in New England have their 'fluffernutter moments'.

Peanut butter and marshmallow creme on bread. Reminds me of that ride at the Carnival and... well, I Fluffernuttered. Embarrassing but true. Frontier Days, Cheyenne, Wyoming 1970. My first month out of the US Army.

As anyone will tell you, never look up at a Carnival ride and always step back...

I am a Fig Newton guy. Newtons, for short vernacular. Sounds... scientific and tastes great. I have yet to 'fluffernutter' while driving with Newtons. Also originating in New England... Newton, Massachusetts.

Keeping them down in a helicopter was worth trying them. A pocket full. They, the chopper, tend to sway a lot pulling an Airstream... No equalizing hitch available.

My wife.. Mrs. Thinster's Cookiethins. They are thin, crisp and probably would catch fire if left in the Sun with the sugar content. Have not fluffernuttered with those either, but after three, I just might. About time Florida put out some cookies.

Fluffernutter Sandwiches versus Your Favorites

I must say, I’ve never heard the word used as a verb and in context, I’m honestly a bit afraid I may know what you mean. Like - I watched a kid roll down the window and fluffernutter out the car onto the blacktop....really hope I’m wrong there because the thought of that is 180* from my love for the inimitable Fluffernutter sandwich. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluffernutter

Ahhh - memories...

Our stand-by On The Road Again [OTRA] snack? Cheez Whiz and Triscuts!

FWIW there are also various mentions here of Spam, Cheez Whiz, and Real Hotdogs:

Back in the late 60's, early 70's, the camper pie was KING.

We did peanut butter and marshmallow in 'em. (plus a whole host of other concoctions)

Before I Fluffernutter after eating a half a cherry pie, so it does not 'spoil' in the fridge, I need to refresh my memory of the 'Good Ole Days' when anything that went down... usually stayed there until the middle of the night, sooner or later.

If you want to test your Fluffer... try a jar of Fluff Marshmellow. Common with some Boy Scouts tent camping. Not me, I was there to observe.

But... a bright spot. At Costco are some consistent camping treats... if taken in moderation. Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds with Turninado Sugar and Sea Salt. Two pounds of pure... something or other.

You know it must be good. Sea Salt.

Then, Brookside Dark Chocolate Acai & Blueberry Flavors. 'The daring ball of smooth dark chocolate with a fruit flavored center.' Two pound bag. I manage exactly 11 of these blueberry sized balls, with the morning coffee. There is a picture of some blue berries on a branch. Obviously a hybrid chocolate/blue berry something, or other as well.

Otra15 missed the Cheez Wiz in a CAN. No cleanup of utensils. Takes a bit of practice but Point and FIRE directly from the can. Either into your mouth or the person holding their eyes shut... and please, do not claim you knew nothing about doing this.

Well if we’re getting in to snax & such - let me remind you of my awesome s’mores variation....

- ginger snaps (preferably Trader Joe’s triple ginger snaps) instead of graham crackers

- Ghirardelli white chocolate instead of Hershey’s

- circus peanuts instead of marshmallows

Prepare as you would any other s’more. Mmmmmmmmm

Hey Ray, what do you get if you throw a Fig Newton?

A Far Fig Newton,

Which brings us to VW and the question if a Touareg is a good TV? Which further cements the fact that every question not matter how seemingly unrelated, devolves into tow vehicles, hitches or tires...

As Walt says... everything devolves into TV's. I like High Definition 1080 pixels myself, with or without sway control.

When shutting everything down at home, before leaving on a camping trip... I take a break to browse the Forum. I have time to consider important topics:

You can be a Dentist or a Proctologist and have a different view of the same patient. Both are right. Many Forum Members need to understand other members may have a different view from reading some of the comments I have read lately. I prefer to have the opinion of a Dentist... more flattering. Although, I have had plenty of the other views after some of my Adventures... Even though they are 100% accurate, as well, but less flattering.

Not on this Thread, but more revealing topics draw a crowd of onlookers.

Mayco... I feel a Fluffernutter coming. Whoa... boy. Otherwise add pickle slices to really make it a Fluffer moment and get it over with.

Try sliced banana and peanut butter... maybe some honey. Smooth peanut butter or chunky.

Apparently, Elvis dug a PB, banana, bacon sammy fried in butter in a pan on the stove.

I’d try that. Once. I think....
