The local Foster's Freeze gives away the buckets the ice cream comes in. Five-gallon and three-gallon sizes.

Just searched "square bucket" on Amazone... they exist.

Check out Asian restaurants. I’ve been able to get square buckets from them fairly regularly.

One thing the rectangular kitty litter buckets have is a convenient flip lid

Ray-- a year or two or five ago you described how to make a device out of a 5 gallon bucket that would make unwanted "neighbors" "uncomfortable" in your presence. For the want of a better word, I called it a growler. Could you describe the construction again? It sounds like fun!
