First as a parent.

As many of you are aware we live in east central Alabama. In 2011 we where hit by an EF4 tornado but only lost property.
Well today East Alabama area was hit again and my son (who is 10) lost a class mate. A little girl that was in his class was killed in this storm.
Please pray for the families effected in this part of the country, Its been a tough afternoon.

Condolences and prayers to their family.

That's about as tough as it gets. I cannot fathom what they are dealing with. However, my grand daughter turns 10 in month and I would never want to deal with the loss of someone so young.

Glad your family is ok.

So sorry to hear this. I hope that young girl’s family can find some comfort despite such a horrible loss and I hope your son and your family are ok.

I was just reading an alert on that storm, at least 14 deaths in Alabama.

My sympathies to your son, such a tough thing at so tender an age.

May she rest in peace and her family and friends find solace. Prayers will be sent to all.

Bigger weather and bigger fires are not going away anytime soon; and with so many in the lower states living in trailers because of previous calamities.......the toll on life will get higher.

As the death toll continues to rise now at 22. School now closed tomorrow as multiple families effected by the storm. Thank you all for your prayers. Son and our family just had a good long cry. Turning in for the night maybe tomorrow will be a little better.

Heartbreaking, and so "close to home." Like others, we will be faithful in prayer for the family and friends.
