Fighting dampness

Noting some of the discussion about dealing with condensation and drying things out reminded me of our bath towel situation. Having trouble drying big cotton towels inside on a damp day, we've replaced them with Pack Towels....those light weight polyester/ nylon ones from outdoor catalogs. Work great!

We got a towel rack from Wal-Mart that hangs over the shower door. I t will hold two large towels and a couple of wash cloths. We keep the rack turned into the shower when we're in the trailer. When we go out we hang the rack on the outside of the shower door. By the time we get back, the towels are usually dry. We enjoy having our big heavy bath towels while "camping".

Packtowls are a common backpacking item and available at multiple locations. Examples are REI or Campmor. They must be used to be believed. You can wash and wring them out, then use immediately. Being synthetic they dry very rapidly. They contain a handy snap loop and can be dried around the shower head, shower vent or on an awning bar. I'd recommend nothing more or less than the 20" x 45" size. Two of them hold me for a very long time -- one for hair/face and a second for body. I've posted about them at least twice before. Good reminder, Antique Pedaler!
