A general observation about old photographs and videos- no one is overweight! I guess it was a time before fast food and microwaves and everyone was active or worked hard and there wasn't a lot of disposable income-

I must be getting old. I was so fixated on the Vespa and wishing I could go back in time and bring it home, that I didn't even notice the ladies' details.

I noticed that the film clip was dated 1959. That's well over a half century ago. I guess that those ladies would have been considered quite progressive for that time. It is sobering to think that those young women in the film would be almost 80 years old today.

Driver Venia Bottono was a ringer. She was not only a shorthand typist (age 20 as of the date of the video), but also a scooter racer, having won the Women's division of the Loving Cup competition on the Isle of Man in 1960.
