Dumb question award

I'm seeing a trend all too frequently, and it's something I'd like to make light of...in a sarcastic manner of course.
We're seeing far too many dumb questions. It usually starts off with something like "I'm new to this forum, so forgive me if this has already been discussed", or "I'm not good with directions..."
Next time you see a really dumb question, post a link to this thread along with a [emoji3]. They can then show us some thick skin and good nature with a [emoji3] in the comments.
Be ready next time someone asks if it's hot in Phoenix in August, or what's the best route from Miami to Key West.

For what it’s worth, I think we have enough sarcasm on these forums already without adding another element to it. The spirit of this site should be to offer helpful advice and welcome newcomers, regardless of how redundant their questions are or how seemingly simple the answers may be.
No one is forcing you to read the threads or respond to them.

Amen to that.

Commenting about those questions [and perhaps even this entire thread], however, may run afoul of the Community Rules IMO. [linked in the blue menu bar at the bottom of this page]

We chatted at our most recent rally and the group concluded that there really are too many "dumb" questions right now, compounded by people who don't want to search the forum for their answer. I may not have to read their question, but I do need to scroll through it and perhaps scan it to see if they have a new wrinkle on an old question. I have only been at this 8 years but it is different now.

Somebody has the rules memorized. Its sure not me, I'm on double secret probation ...
So I guess further comment is out of the question??
Or is that a dumb question? ?

There are no dumb questions. If someone asks for information, we should give it in a respectful manner. We were all new once.

As we say in aviation, "What you don't know can kill you."

If it wasn't for the dumb questions and sarcastic answers, this forum would get boring.

Need a good chuckle....

We get enough chuckles from the dinnerware down the toilet stories to last a lifetime. And, no one says we can't chuckle to ourselves and spare a newbie's feelings.

Let me get this straight. The intent is to poke at members perceived as posting dumb questions?

This is not consistent with the decorum of this site, serves as a mechanism to alienate members, and to dissuade members who genuinely need your help from even posting at all.
