Question Do you Facebook??

Watched this film on the Sundance Channel recently.

Most interesting/poignant film in quite awhile.

Be advised I said film not "movie"

Do You Facebook????

Used to until I found out about their privacy policies, and about how huge a platform they are for all of the Hacks out there. They seem to make the news out at most of the internet threatPost sites, every day.

I like you Bobby, but no thanks...

I Facebook incessantly. I have friends scattered all over the globe, so that's the only way I can even remotely keep up with everyone, and have them keep up with me. I don't do any of the apps, though.

I don't do Facebook, myspace, text messages, or any of the social networks. I only do Airstream forums. I don't believe in putting to much information out in cyberspace. Hackers, robbers, or nosey people trying to find out your buiness can be harmful. In my field of employment I have seen people lose their job for posting something not knowing they were doing something wrong. No thanks!

Airstream forums is it for me.

Brian you sound just like me. I only do Airforums also, that alone is a struggle sometimes. I didn't come along with electronic devices so now this old dog won't learn new tricks. Heck I have only owned a cell phone about 1 week now, still haven't used it, not sure if I can.!!

For those that might be interested, a while ago I set up the Facebook "Airstream 34 Group", so those with (or hope to be's) could chat about the 34, get to know each other & stay in touch.

Cheers, P.

I used to until I discovered that Facebook made every phone number and contact in my cell phone available to any of my FB friends. Yep, it is just there available to your friends. How is that for intrusion ? If you have the FB app on your phone , it has happened to you unless you purposely block it. No telling what else they can do without your knowing it. Everyone needs to understand that "free" social media sites use your personal information for profit. Without your knowing it, unless you have read ALL the fine print, you give them permission and access to a lot of information. I am NOT o.k. with that. Goodbye FB.

We use it. Sure did help us stay in touch with the kids while they were deployed to Afghanistan. For that purpose alone it was worth it. Our Unit has a FB page and it is well done. So all in all, we like it. I just got a message from the Presidents Physical Fitness Challenge Site saying they had been hacked and all my info was taken. (This is NOT Face Book). At work we were recommended to visit this site and sign up as part of a fitness challenge. So no matter what you use electronically, you run a risk. Credit cards at ATM's get scammed... All you can do is limit the info you hand out and display if you want to stay in touch electronically. The forums could also be hacked I am sure. Birthdays, addresses, real names, passwords, and whatever other Personally Identifiable Information(PII) happens to be there can be used to piece together a bigger picture of us all..
So, we all have to keep passwords secure, try not to post where we are and when we are gone (here or on FB) and use good ol common sense whenever we have access to it.
But I like FB!

I facebook on a limited basis and with the privacy controls cranked down. I also limit what is in my profile, just as I do here. Once you put it on the internet, it is floating in cyber space forever.

We used to (when it first came out), but have completely removed ourselves from most social networks (aside from our beloved forums, of course)...being on the receiving-side of all of that facebook data (I work in ecommerce) it's quite shocking how much data we're actually able to mine and gather about FB users who visit integrated sites!

Good way to keep track of family, friends, and colleagues. I read the fine print, don't use apps or games, and read the fine print. Other than what virtually any site can get from my IP, the only valid information FB has about me is my name. Even my picture is 30 years old.

Good for you.....everyone should, as the minute you allow access (especially via apps) there's a wealth of data that comes across (as well as the ability for others to post info on your wall, in a lot of cases).

NO!!

No Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, texting, ad nauseum.

We simply do not understand the attraction/obsession.

No - used to though...

Tried it in the beginning, but my email was hijacked and maybe it wasn't related (I'd had the email for YEARS and was diligent with changing/protecting my password) so, I was no longer willing to play. I really couldn't find enough time either - it seemed so consuming.

So, no.
