In the past week I have seen mention of '40 Cadillacs, '60 Cadillacs, '62 Impala, Harley Davidsons, '57 Safari Wagons, and many more. I've seen NorCal Bambi's '68 Ford TV and scotandlilly's '68 International (beautiful), and recently a thread on a really nice C10 Chevy pickup. I know MYOUNG has a very nice Porsche. It seems llike many of us are into our vehicles. I'm just wondering what else is out there. I've been hooked on cars since before I was old enough to drive one. Now, among the fleet I have several Chevys: '55 210 post, '55 handyman wagon, '55 Nomad, and '64 Impala convertible. The thing that is the best about our AS is that Deb is just as excited about it as I am. So, what other cars/bikes/trucks are you folks so proud of? I'll bet there are some beauties. Pictures would be nice. I will even try to figure out how to post mine.
While traveling this summer I ran across a couple of car shows, one in Salida, CO and another in Flippin, AR. For the first time I did had my camera available.

Lovely ride!!!

Hello all -

Loving the thread!

Used to have a '62 Lincoln Continental HT. Champagne Leather, smooottthhh V8 engine, with power everything and the "Magic Eye" - anybody remember them?! Also had that reverb thing under the rear package shelf in the trunk for the 8-track player so that it had some 'round' sound to it - in addition to the simple 4" speakers. LOVED that car!

The looks, the drools & the million "Thumbs Up" signs I got when driving her around were just simply terrific.... Ah... those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end.... Alas....

Great reading about everyone's rides!!! Keep 'em coming.

Axel

Hey, if anybody wants a Lincoln Mark III, I know of one that is in showroom condition. It belonged to my aunt and uncle, both of whom passed away recently. The car is still in the garage, still covered, still beautiful, and my cousin wants to get rid of it. I have no idea what he wants for it. PM me, and I'll get you their email address.

Great pictures, thanks for sharing them. It's interesting to see the mixture of vehicles. Now if they would only put a vintage Airstream behind each one of them...............................

Wow! a 1965 Coronet 383. I grew up with one of those. My Dad bought a brand new '65 Dodge Coronet (a seden), 383 cid, three speed manual in December, 1964. I got to drive it in my senior year in high school. I had the fastest car in Miami (or so I thought). I have the fondest memories of that old Dodge. I really enjoyed seeing the photo of yours.

We just sold the 40 year old Corvair Monza Convertible for lack of use, so it doesn't get a picture... We still have opportunity to visit Mom and drive her 1940 Packard 110 convertible, which she bought new from dealer in NJ, and still drives (at 89..) on sunny days to get mail or run to store...

Have kept the 30 year old Honda GL-1000 Motorcycle which was purchased for $500 as fixer upper 6 years ago with less than 8500 miles on it... Would happily do 13 second 1/4 mile off showroom floor, in comfort with liquid cooling, drive shaft and disc brakes...

As long as we are talking classics here is a picture ( I hope) of my 1929 Jordan Playboy Covertible Coupe. Straight 8 power and capable of running right at 100 MPH in 1929. Might even pull my 1969 Overlander. It does have a hitch attached and was at one time used to pull a bakery delivery trailer. This is one of the original American muscle cars

John:
I thought my 87 year old mom driving her '96 Lincoln was pretty cool, but your mom in the one owner Packard definitly takes the cake.

What a great mix!

I love this. Can you believe the cars, trucks, boats, and bikes that are showing up here? A Jordan, Playboy? This is too much fun. I'll bet there are some planes out there too!

LOVE the bike. Had a few corvairs - 65 140hp and 66 180hp and really enjoyed them at the time. I'm surprised your mom would let her biker son borrow her car... - what a neat thought that she still has her car. Got any pictures of it you could share? One of my buddies has a '35 Hudson he uses to pull an SOB, but he's altered it significantly. In the very early seventies there was a 39 Packard on a consignment car lot in the town I lived in at the time but the owner pulled it off the lot after having it there for a day - my father was very interested in it and kept up a discussion with the fellow for several years, then the car headed down to Great Falls, MT to a son and we never heard of it again.

How many of these were made, GMS? Where were they manufactured? I love the look. I've seen a lot of cars in my life but never one of these puppies. Beautiful styling. Got any other pictures you can share?

Great thread! My current classic in waiting is a first year (1987) Cadillac Allante. This was GM's shot at Mercedes and their 450SL. The cars where produced from 1987-1993. Body was built in Italy by Pinninfarina and shipped via 747 freighters to Detroit. This car had a $54,000 price tag in 1987! I bought this one early this year and have been working it back to it's present shape.
Just added 16" CTS wheels to replace the stock 15" alloys. Top down or hard top on, she still turns heads with her fine lines. And of course she's silver!
I've had in the past 1969 Jaguar 340, 1981 Puma (Brazil) 1988 Alfa Graduate, to name a few!

Yes, you can put a hitch on a unibody car, you just need to find a good hitch fabricator. The 1970's Chrysler products are unibody and many were used as tow vehicles, also the 1960's Lincoln Continentals are unibody and would make a great tow vehicle.

Here is a project for you car restorer/rebuilders. It would make a fantastic tow vehicle for a vintage trailer: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dodge...60701114QQrdZ1

A Merry-Can

Love the Cuda and Camaro. My wife's brother has the '70 AAR he bought in '72 with just a few thousand miles on it and it still has very few miles - I think fewer than 20,000 but haven't seen it since he parked it in '75 along with a '71 Challenger convert he bought very inexpensively (I think I hate him ). Another friend has the hemi-cuda he bought new tucked away and has not driven it since 1980 when someone swiped the spoiler off the back. He's soon to retire and intends to start playing with it then. It's has 32,000 miles on it. My wife also has all the documentation to show the 'cuda Don Johnson (Nash Bridges) sold at auction a couple of years back was her (late) other brother's car that was originally out of Saskatoon and her brother had it for several years while in Calgary. When he passed in '94 it was sold to another Calgary person who then sold it into CA a few months later. One reason we went for another 70 Chevelle was so it could pull our trailer without frame our power issues. But I'd love to have either of your cars - they'd look mighty fine in my shop.
