Chrysler Banner Ads

Has anyone else noticed that the new Crysler ads have made the use of the search function very hard to use? The search window opens behind the ad and you have to quess that you are entering information into the window correctly. Except for that, the ads are very nice and well done!

I don't see that ad but it brings back memories of that annoying GM (General Motors) ad that was running for the Canadian members of the forum.Made the search feature very difficult to use.

Doesn't seem to affect my portal page but it does cover the search window in some (not all) other pages I open. I can type a search word blindly into the entry field ... not good. It also covers up chat & quick link drop down menus. I'll bring it up on the mod side of the house and see if it can be fixed. Thank you!

I've noticed it too. Must be some way of bringing the drop down box over the top of the ad??

Thumbs up bye bye banner!!!

Clicking once on the very edge of the upper right hand corner will make the banner go away! You may notice the "X" for only a second as the banner appears but the function still remains

Update: Seems to work on the black banner but only sometimes with the gray one !?

I looked for it but never saw the X. I clicked the upper right corner and the ad opened up.

Clicking on the corner doesn't work for me, it just takes you to their page (now they're getting all these clicks and thinking ASF is a GREAT place to advertise).

However, my search box appears over the ad, I have no problem with it. I am using the newest Firefox. Is it acting differently on different browsers?

The forum owner only makes money when we click on the banners (or if you sign up for "enhanced membership"). Maybe it's a trick to increase revenue?

Now Steve ...

I didn't share this morning since the banner behaved as I expected after a couple hours into this new experience. As it is still happening I want to share a message I received:

So patience would be in order. Thanks! Bob

I was running Firefox 2.0 and had the problem. In the middle of the session, an update to Firefox 2.0.0.1 was offered. When installed, The problem went away for now. Menu on top.

Earlier today I checked with IE 7.0 and menu remained on top.

Jim,

I experienced the same thing! Before the 2.0.0.1 update the search box was blocked. After the update it displays over the banner when clicked on.

Can't See the Search Box!

Is it me, or does anyone else have trouble seeing the search box? The recent advertisements are covering the drop-down search box, forcing you to click on the ad instead. Any remedy?
