Christmas Tunes

Question:
What is your favorite Chrismtas song and who sings it?

I'm looking to add some variety to my Christmas music collection - figured what better place to ask than the Airstream forum to get a diverse group of opinion.

Thanks and hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!

Almost anything by the Trans-Siberian orchestra, most chorus-sung Christmas tunes, anything instrumental. It makes great background music for the season.

You know I will have to say TSO's "Wizards in Winter". But I am biased:

Get the soundtrack to the movie, ELF. It is fantastic and has a nice variety of slightly out of the norm Christmas music. I like all the songs on that CD -it's like Christmas with some "Swing" to it!

Sorry I didn't mean for that to link back to any particular online seller - I intended to just cut/paste the list of songs for you.

Plenty of favorites but there are three that are a must play every year.
Stan Freberg : A Green Christmas
Vince Guaraldi: A Charlie Brown Christmas Soundtrack.
And, call me an old sentimental softy,
South Park’s Mr. Hankie’s Christmas Classics: Merry F***ing Christmas.

Happy Holidays to all,

Tom.

A local Ann Arbor Michigan musician Timothy Monger has a Christmas Airstream song that is as nostalgic as it is cool, about rememberences of an Airstream at a Christmas tree lot. Wish a special Airstreaming friend a Merry Christmas.

Secure download available here 2.2MB https://www.yousendit.com/transfer.p...dEM1R1BIRGc9PQ

And a favorite artist of mine Paige Bridges and her prints available for purchase.

Definitely A Charlie Brown Christmas (Vince Guaraldi Trio)

I give the CDs as gifts every Christmas - it's the definitive album! (in my humble opinion, of course)

'Twas The Night Before Christmas"

When I was growing up, my father brought home a few LP's with Christmas tunes that I just loved. One was instrumental mood music for the holidays, "All I Want For Christmas", by Jackie Gleason and his Orchestra. (Capital Records STBB-346)

Another was "'Twas The Night Before Christmas", by Fred Waring and The Pennsylvanians, cover illustrated by Norman Rockwell, (MCA Records - 15016, Formerly MCA-517).

On You Tube I found the original 1942 version of the above directly transferred from the 45 rpm record, .

My favorite is "The little drummer boy" performed by David Bowie & Bing Crosby. Also any song performed by an orchestra.
