Car Shows or Cruise-Ins?

So, I've been casually asked if I could bring my Safari to one of those "park on the grass & sit around" car shows. This is the first year for this show, and they are trying to get as many people down there as possible. It is a fundraiser for my local APL, and I'll actually be working a booth part time.

I'll be able to keep an eye on it, but the idea seems a little wierd.

Anyone out there ever done these things with you Airstream?

Yes, we have courtesy parking for you. About an hour North of Los Angeles.

Hi DanB, It's only strange the first time. The TCT rallies that we attend are vintage car and trailer shows and they have an open house so the public can tour. Keep an eye on your trailer it only takes one rotten apple. Have fun!

Car Shows or Cruise-Ins?

I have been attending such shows since 1998, and have found them to be quite enjoyable. You will need to be prepared to answer many, many questions -- probably repeatedly during the show. Some of us who frequently show our rigs at such gatherings have scenarios that we establish through decorations that we place in and around the coach. My usual scenario includes The Long, Long Trailer playing in my video player, my PowerPoint show of the 1999 Wagon Wheels Caravan and International Rally in Dayton, and a display of literature pertaining to my vehicle(s).

I have made plans to attend such a cruise-in later this fall with my 1975 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible and 1964 Airstream Overlander.

Once you try attending one of these events, you may find yourself making plans to attend on a regular basis.

Kevin
