We used to throw paint cans in the fire but that can make a mess...

Nay, bream is what you call sunnies and bluegills. Perch are more like little walleyes.

Except for Canada where the latter is called pike. It gets so confusing... Can we just skip to the fun stuff and go spit off a bridge?

Funny names for things...."Buffing his Bambi" was funny, but I don't think we should go there.

After seeing the movie Wild Hogs this weekend, I think we could change the name of this thread to HOGSTREAM Rally. When you see the movie you get a feeling that every now and then there just needs to be Man Time. BTW, when you do see the movie there will be an Airstream in it belonging to a forum member - I believe blu_hwy_lady - on screen for about 3 seconds. You have to watch closely, but it's there. Funny movie.

I vote we go fish off that bridge and who cares about the names of the fish we catch.

Man time is good. Just don't let the women know or they will want to come too.

Yes that is Susan's Airstream and it really needed a stunt double! I was hurt pretty bad during the explosion. There were four LP tanks set up to explode, two at a time as it was written but all four went off at the same time causing significant damage to said Airstream!

See, when we do Guy time, we go on a road trip. It's to pick up a trailer, a car, a part, hit a swap meet or go fishing, but it always includes a road trip, even if it's an hour away. We know unless it's camping or to a mall the women don't like road trips (usually). That allows us to get some real stuff done like talk about our cars and trailers and what we are going to do next mechanically and everyone understands. Costs never come up, nor time in the garage, nor time sitting in a campground sipping coolies, it's that male thing, it doesn't need to be explained.

So, it's great to discuss sports or fishing, but what's really got us all here is our love or our Airstreams, and the fact that it took a road trip to get us to the campground. A great topic would be our trailers, our TV's and what we intend or would like to do to them (if we had the money and the time), what we want to get next, etc.. I'm glad the fire got started but when I saw how, Johnny Cash immediately came to mind. I expect that the wood is coming from someone's incompleted SOB project which makes the fire that much better.

I'm almost afraid to ask, but then that would for sure tell you I've never done it. So, what is it and does it work when you are ice fishing? And that's not the kind of ice fishing where the tinkle of ice in a drink is involved, it's the kind where you drill a hole through the ice to get to the fish.

Nah, you guys are way off. It's when you hunt for hallow logs or stumps and stick your arm up in the void and have the catfish chomp down on it. You then grab on to the gills from the inside and pull him out and toss him up in the boat. Lots of folks will plant their own logs and mark them. Just watch out - snapping turtles like the same habitat, some snakes do to. They don't feel the same when they bite . I caught one that was 70 lbs once - lots of fun, a 70lb fish can whip a 225lb man in the water any day. Have to do this when it's warm - you get plenty wet but oh so much fun.

I'm thinking that ice fishing isn't so bad after all. At least you come home with all your digits attached. Although I wouldn't mind seeing a demonstration while the group here sits on our lawnchairs and watches, that could be very entertaining.

This looks much more tranquil, albeit the drinks freeze on you while you are fishing (my wife's nephew at a lake in Southern Alberta a couple of weeks ago)
