Hi All,
I had dinner with Brenda and our friend Andi a few days ago and Brenda told me she was having her semi annual battery of tests and scans blah, blah, blah...she's kind sick of being poked and prodded.
Anyway, I spoke with her today and the newest scan showed 13 new tumors in her lungs since March. Not good.
She said she's going to keep on keeping on as long as she's able and in typical Brenda fashion said "I'm not horizontal YET!".
She then thanked me and all of you who helped last fall for helping her create all these memories with her kids. So consider yourselves thanked again...you all rock and should be proud of yourselves for being there for a complete stranger.

Hi All, Latest update on Brenda...She's STILL fooling her doctors! I wouldn't say she's "well", but she's still with us. We had dinner 2 weeks ago and were talking about how long it's been since she was diagnosed...4 years and counting. The doc's have told her 3 or 4 times to get her affairs in order and then she keeps going. They don't know why but prayer and stubborness have a lot to do with it I'm absolutely certain! There are tumors in her lungs and she's having pain in her head, all bad signs but she's still puttin' along getting in all the time she can with her kids and several new grandbabies too. Keep praying or sending good mojo...it's WORKING! Thanks again our dear Alumin-angels.

The love of my life passed and the memories of living his "bucket list" & our "angel cohorts" has held me together many of nights. 8,123 photos of every (re)-action for months and than laying down (the camera) for a quiet 2 week Good-Bye.

Airstream631, First, condolences on your loss...It amazes me that you can feel someone elses pain when your own is so great! You must be a wonderful person.

I had coffee with Brenda just this week and she's still hanging in there. In fact her kids want to go back to Williamsburg so we spent an hour and planned another trip for 2012. Brenda's husband, Jim, may even be able to go along this time.

The original trip was in the fall of 2009 so I don't think the account is still open. If you'd really enjoy sending her something I will forward it to her, but only if you'd really like to.

From time to time I re-read this thread and I cry every time too. I'm so grateful for the help my dear friend of 30+ years recieved and that she's still here with us.

Hi All, I was just talking with Paula about Brenda and she suggested I post an update on how Brenda is doing. She's STILL fooling her docs and hanging in there. She has 19 tumors in her lungs but they don't seem to be growing, at least not very fast so she keeps puttin' along. She has good and bad days but is planning to take another trip to Williamsburg this Fall with several of her kids .She has a couple of new grand babies and Sarah got married as did Daniel (I think it was Daniel) Anyway, all things considered she's OK for now. She still mentions the new friends she made on the previous trip and corresponds with several. She sends her love to everyone who helped with her trip or prayed for her. Hi all, Another update in the ongoing saga of Brenda's house-o-drama! Brenda was planning another trip to Williamsburg with the crew for September but that damned "Murphy" created an impediment. Those of you who met them on the 1st trip, will remember Abby. Well Abby married her sweetheart who is about to deploy and immediately proceeded to give birth to their baby! She's a bit premature, 4lbs. 5ozs. but doing well. Abby is fine too but it put the trip in the dumpster.
After speaking with Brenda I called my timeshare company, explained the situation and AMAZINGLY, they not only allowed me to change their reservation but didn't charge me for doning it! Thanks RCI!

))
So anyway, Brenda and the kids will be in Williamsburg Oct. 20-27 for another bucket list adventure.
Silly me, I forgot to ask the baby's name! DOH!
I'll post it after I here from Brenda again.

OK, Brenda's newest granddaughter is Nevaeh Renee Davis. She weighed in at 4lbs. 9 ozs and is 18 inches long. All are doing well and Granny Brenda is doting to the point of making me a bit ill!

OK, I'm sickening when it comes to MY grandbabies too...but mine are SO CUTE!
