Within the advertising of the Wall Street Journal magazine Far & Away was an ad of a highly polished... Bowlus Road Chief single axle trailer. Spring 2018 issue, page 48.

I am very content with our 2016 25 foot International with minimal complaints. For our Off the Grid travel, a double axle trailer is 100% necessary. It appears that the two Bowlus trailers are single axles and more of an Urban Luxury option to the boxy trailers.

This may be a great time for Airstream and Bowlus comparisons. Although the first search for tires... answered my interest: Goodyear Endurance 205R15 Tires.

When you find the site, check Specifications and then look around.

When at Jackson Center, Ohio there was one or two trailers out front that appeared much like the Bowlus. Maybe vintage Airstreams. Someone may know.

This certainly caught my attention, but sorry Bowlus. The two examples shown are very flashy and novel in appearance... the single axle will not work for us. I was expecting 16" tires considering the single axle... but their Engineers no doubt have this all worked out.

Being towed by a convertible, top down in the Desert, in the Dust, Dirt and Grit that an Airstream does for entertainment.

"No travel trailer is better engineered" is the headline.

Wouldn't a few of you who were on the New Mexico, Taylor Lake Greenhorn or Wyoming Adventures enjoy taking these people along for an experience!!!! I would volunteer in a heartbeat to test this trailer combination and owners... out into the Wilds of the Western USA for a start.

Afterwards, the rest of you can take over with some more, polite and less ornery neighbors. Check out the specifications. You will note some interesting... facilities.

There is a sales office located in Henderson, NV while they are constructed in Oxnard, CA. They are beautiful "recreations" of the original Bowlus, but far from the originals. The company is very proud of itself and has an attitude to match!
They are very light, thus the single axle and the excruciatingly small TV.

I wish them the best of luck, it is a very niche product.

There was a Road Chief at Jackson Center when we were there several years ago. It looks nothing like this recreation. You are right, it is a very special trailer with a limited audience.

When the factory was showing these trailers at AirVenture a couple of years ago, they were about $135K a pop. Seems sort of steep for what you got...

I have been selected to receive very well written posts about Bowlus Road Chief models. Although the trailers do have an unusual appearance, not having a double axle is the Brand Killer for my needs.

Price: One model is $137,000 On the Road- Road Chief, the other is $219,000 Endless Highways.

There also seems to be a dealership located in the Henderson, Nevada area. It will be an interesting experience. I spend more time looking behind, under and beneath a trailer. The lipstick is for the salesmen to brag about. I would like to find out what is behind.. that curtain.
