Lee,
Congrats on your new acquisition. Does anyone have any history on the Avions, like how did they come to look so much like Airstreams? Disgruntled employees striking out or just someone thinking they liked what they saw and wanted to improve on it?

Lee,
There is a club I believe call the SAF - the Silver Avion Fellowship.
Enjoy, and congrats!

In addition to my Flying Cloud I also have a Silver Streak Chico (1958). There's either a '57 or '58 23' Avion that I pass on my trips back to Alberta (Canada) that haunts me and my wife fears that I may go for a drive one Saturday morning and bring it home. What I love about the Airstream is not just the trailer but the whole mystique about them. Most non-Airstream people think anything that looks remotely like an Airstream must be a derivative of Airstream - a model in essence. They each have a unique and rich history, and it's interesting to see how aligned they are. I appeciate them all. I just keep my queries and comments on this site focused on my Airstream, but you will find that it all carries across to the other makes.
Christmas is upon us, what a wonderful time of the year to start life with a new trailer. And $800.00. Wow! Merry Christmas! Obviously the person who sold it was very robust and wearing a white suit and had silver hair and beard. Are there sleigh marks on the roof per chance? Barry
