Bluegrass Music

This is a gift for everyone here. This is a nice community. Anyone like Bluegrass? I can imagine listening to this someday in my Airstream & meeting up with some of you.

Great treat. I'll have to keep watching for the next Bluegrass Caravan or Rally. Are you organizing it???

Thanks for the link.

Definately on of my greatest joys is to go to a good bluegrass or music festival and camp in my Airstream off the grid. I am planning on going to Merlefest in April (Allison Krauss is one of the headliners for this huge festival).

Going to Telluride is on my bucket list!

Jeeze....I hope and pray that "Silverwoman" is Alison Krause. Yes, by the way. Many of us love Old Time and Bluegrass.

Airstreams, friends and Bluegrass Music ~ doesn't get much better than that!
I'm a newbie searching for my 1st Airstream ~ I think I found it! I guess the rallies happen in the summer so I'll try to be ready for the Bluegrass Caravan. Thanks!

We're going to be at Merlefest too. We'll be camping there also, so look for aluminum. Hope to see you there.

Love bluegrass festivals. Telluride was a blast. You've definitely got to do it.

Checkout the Dogwoods and Bluegrass Rally in April. Renfro Valley is only about 45 minutes south of Lexington and is well know for bluegrass, country and mountain music. We would be glad to have you!!!

If you're into Bluegrass and Acoustic music you should check out the Walnut Valley Music Festival in Winfield, Kansas. It takes place the 3rd weekend of September. Sept 13-16. Some of the best in Bluegrass and Acoustic music perform at the festival.

http://www.wvfest.com

we're there every year camped out in Moe (our '71 Safari).

We'll catch her at Telluride this year. It is our first time attending this particular festival and we're looking forward to it!

Chris Thile is the greatest! I first saw the Punch Brothers at ROMP last June in Owensboro, Ky. Probably the best bluegrass lineup I have ever seen. I am looking forward to seeing the Punch Brothers at both Merlefest and Floydfest this year.

My favorite Bluegrass group is still the Steep Canyon Rangers though. They will be at Merlefest and Floydfest also.

Looks like I now have to add the Watermelon Festival to my list of "go to festivals" now.

I sure would like the opportunity to combine a trip to a bluegrass festival and getting to know some of the AS community. I live in North Alabama and plan to go fulltime next spring.

We volunteer at the Boxcar Pinion Forever Bluegrass Festival every year and love it! Been doing this for about 18 years now. More and more Airstreams there each time.

The festival is at Raccoon Mountain just outside of Chattanooga, TN. The link is Boxcar Pinion Memorial Bluegrass Festival

Come on up...or over....or down! Promise you will have a great time!

I work the gate in the evenings, so I can always be found there. But I camp down on Music Row, I think it is site # 49. It is right across from the pool. Last year we brought the smoker and had it going.

We just mailed out flyers for this year so you should get one soon. Which site are you in?

No surprise

Mandolin Dave ( sorry for the third person ) likes Bluegrass. I go to quite a few festivals on the East Coast. I work at The O.A.T.S.( Out Among The Stars) Bluegrass Festival in Benton,Pa over the Fourth of July weekend. It is hosted by a bluegrass camping club called The Grillbillies. OATS has a website with info.

All -

Allison Krauss is actually headlining the wonderful FloydFest near Floyd, Virginia at the end of July this summer. I'm attending with my kids, pulling my 28' International CCD.

The on-site RV spots sold out within minutes of the tickets going on sale, but Black Ridge Lot off-site RV parking slots are still available at $125. Its only a short satellite shuttle ride to the main event area. It's expected to sell out again this year.

We had a great time at FloydFest last year with our kids, but tent camped near one of the stages on-site which made for a very noisy night, I'm looking forward to pulling my AS to the off-site RV campaign this year.

If anybody is attending this year and may be in the Black Ridge Lot, feel free to look me up or we might even try to group the Airstreams together for a sort of mini Airstream bluegrass/folk rally.

Cheers,

Jim Sheire
