BLM Camping

I think you will find that BLM camping in southern Utah gets better the farther away from Moab you get. The Moab camp scene used to be great, and free, as recently as the 80's, but now the area serves just plain too many people, especially for the spring break period. Good for their cash registers, bad for folks trying to get away from it all. That said, it is of course one of the most scenic places in the US, well worth visiting, and you'll be able to practice your German and French too.
