Bob;

Man does that bring back memories!! The aircleaner hold down screw was something..
The old man had a 40 Ford, 2 door, side seats in the back. He slammed a 53 Merc flathead in it, His friends thought that was something. Something like 20 coats of black lacquer, shined up pretty...
Nice Valve Cover decal!!!

Boy, I sure enjoyed this. My first car was a '48 Ford..flathead of course....dad bought it for me just short of my 16th birthday in 1954. Before I could legally drive he told me to take parts off then put them back together....so'd I'd get the hang of the mechanics. My second 'flathead' was a '51 Merc convertible. I sure enjoyed both flatheads.

Neil......that's me doing MY James Dean impression leaning against my car.
