Tuesday morning it goes through White Rock at 6:30 AM. My wife will be out watching. I'll show her these pics so she has an idea of what to expect. Yep, this is pretty exciting stuff for little old BC to handle. As everyone can see from your pictures it was another typical winters day on the coast. It will be funny with the Olympic torch going through White Rock with many of the Cherry trees already in blossom .
Thanks for posting the pictures.

Thanks for posting the pictures. They are super. I especially like the torch pictures and that Coke truck.

I thought the Olympics was working to rid sports of drugs. That torch looks like a giant joint!

The torch comes right by our house tomorrow! We live in the tiny community of Deep Cove at the eastern end of North Vancouver. I will be out to take pictures in front of the house. Just wish the Airstream was home.

It will be coming up Lonsdale, a block from my house, tomorrow. I'm not sure what time, I'll have to find out.

You guys have a lot to be proud of, and getting to show it off via the Olympics is really something.
Congrats to all our Canuckian friends.

According to my wife the streets were lined with people in White Rock this morning to watch the torch go past. Given it was there at 6:30 AM and still dark and the temperature was just slightly above 34F that was an excellent turn out.

No short shorts?
Stovebolt,
Thanks for posting those photos. Guess I've never seen the WINTER torch procession before. It looked real different than the Summer Olympic runner.

Olympic Torch at my House
The Torch went by an hour ago. The kids from the school lined the street. That's our house in the background.

My girlfriend had the honour of running with the torch in Calgary. She works for Own The Podium, an organization created to increase funding and awareness for Canadian athletes in Vancouver 2010.
So proud of her!

It's pretty cool to see something that you never will ever see again in your home town. At least not in our lifetime.
Barry, you are right about the cherry blossoms. I mowed my lawn yesterday. Yes, thats right, I mowed my lawn. So I think they should change the name from Winter Olympics to Spring Olympics. It figures that in the Olympic year, we have the warmest January on record. Thanks El Nino!!
