Airstream look-alike, only better~

You be the judge.
I got my June, 2K8 issue of RVBusiness magazine and, on page 16, featured this introduction article of: Oliver Trailers Targets Fuel-Conscious Buyer.
WOW, talk about look-alike..My old 64 GT would love to look this nice`
Here's a link to the website and, company's info.
Copy of Campers Vegas 021 | Oliver Travel Trailers
I have to admit the long list of standard options and, the aluminum frame got my attention~
But, at 2600lbs and, $19,500 full retail..(read those "retail" numbers!) seemed hard to beat.
specifications:
Oliver Legacy Classic - Standard Features | Oliver Travel Trailers
Forgive me Wally...
BTW, They're also offered in white and dark blue as well as this red color..
now, where did I leave my sunglasses??

That's nothing but a 17' Casita (made in Rice, Texas) with a fancy paint job, or 'custom' gel coat. -had one in white, liked it very much!!!! Maybe you could have one done in Silver....

No confusion here...too much white shiny molded plastic on the interior, I'd feel like I was camping/sleeping in a shower stall!

It looks good in white.

The SUV out in front isn't doing the aerodynamics of the trailer any favours.

At least it'd be hard to tell if there is any corrosion on the body.

With that front view I can see the minor differences from a Casita, but that is one heck of a close knock-off! (There's no window on the front of the 17' Casita-the 'rise' -6'2" inside height- in the middle gives off the model).
The only real problem is all the weight of the A/C, H2O, battery etc. above and behind the axle, I had a lot of trouble with sway.

The Casita is a fine little trailer. Had one for 6 1/2 years and took it to 49 States and 10 Canadian Provinces. If I hadn't gone fulltime and wanted something a little larger I'd likely still have one. I had far fewer problems with the Casita then I've had with my AS. They hold their value even better than Airstream and you'll never have to worrk about filiform corrosion.

The Oliver is a better built trailer according to people I've talked to who have been in one. I've seen one on the road but never up close. It's amazing how much they've packed into it including a built in satellite dish. Also Oliver is supposedly coming out with a 20' dual axle version by the end of this year. If they do it should be a big seller.

I was reading the specs, it says it has "powered brakes". Maybe the "powered brakes" are surge brakes. If so, it would explain the tongue. It would also aggravate any sway, as the tongue will slop around a bit.

But it doesn't look much like the trailer... Wonder what sway control should be used to tow the Oliver trailer with the Oliver tractor?

It sound like an industrial tool to me. Oliver was one of the finest pieces if machinery back in the day. many woodworking shops still use them daily.
You can have that trailer, too much plastic for me. I do like the stripper pole.
