Airstream in Sons of Anarchy episode

Has anyone seen the Airstream in this season's "Sons of Anarchy", on FX? The ex-sheriff, who is down on his luck, is living in this 70's Overlander... I was looking for pics on the web, but didn't see any posted.

This show may not be for everyone out there in Airstream land...it's rated R, so you're forewarned! Look through the first 4 episodes if you want to see the Airstream. But if you ride a harley, you have already seen it...like me.

Back to work on the Bedroom remodel....

We caught that episode as well. It's pretty cool to see an Airstream in mainstream tv. Too cool!

Looking at the photos you posted....I still don't think its a 1959 Airstream. Look at the front window...it's three sections, I don't think in 1959, Airstream models had the front "wing" windows.

I think the guy on Craigslist doesn't know what he has... I would also question if that Airstream was really used as the prop on SofA.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking... He's way off on the year of what he's posting. I didn't see the episode so was wondering if what he posted looks like what's in the show.

I couldn't find a pic of the SofA airstream on the web... but I didn't go to the videos posted on there Web Site. So, I can't say for sure that the Airstream posted on Craigslist is...or is not, the one that is used as a prop on the TV show. I may go to their site and see if I can find more intel....

Here's a pic of the Airstream TV prop on SoA... It took me a while to find this pic on the web... I also included two pics of the Airstream on Craigslist...owner claiming that it is the TV prop on SoA. Not sure...it could be if they added a TV antenna top side. And replaced or covered up the missing window.

That guy on Craigslist is a scam! He is from Sunland, and has been advertising that same trailer for over a year. Since the show came out...suddenly the trailer is from the film...ahem, yeah right!

I almosted snagged the trailer used in GRim last summer...it was really in the show, I spoke to the production manager (buyer) and missed buying it by a day. Drats!

Mr. Phrunes....thanks for your input. Looks like there is a Grim Thread under "Airstreams in the news". Maybe I should have started this thread under that section? Anyway, thanks for the intel.

Hi Trex,
The trailer in SOA is a 1968 Overlander 26'.
I did buy it from "the guy" on Craigslist. It was not a scam. I have all the paperwork from the production company and the communications on where to place it for the shoot. It is in pretty good condition, on the inside it needs some work but I might redo a lot of the interior to fit my needs.
The man who sold it rents vehicles to the movie industry and has been doing so for 32 years.he also had some of the SOA motorcycles for sale. If you look at the picture that you posted above you see a crack in the AC unit and the shadow tarp is green with a white corner to the right above the door.
The same can be seen on the pics I have. Once I figure out how to do it I'll post them here. For now I'm going to let it rest as I have no more cash to remodel. So I'll keep her clean and dry. Next year we'll start the work and hopefully she'll be on the road soon.
Cheers

I stand corrected. My apologies to the PO for doubting his integrity.

On the show last night it appears that they are using a different Airstream. It looked like a newer model than was used last season. It was featured prominently and did not look like a stage set on the inside like the one in Grimm.

Yep...it looks like my 1972 inside, before I remodeled Rita. Except I didn't have the gun rack up front, like someone else I know.

I liked the gun rack. It gives me an idea for the next mod.

Don't see how the trailer in SOA is a 68 Overlander. We used to have a 68, and the windows are straight edged...not curved. Look on the archives even. It is likely a 70s unit.

It's a 71 thru 76? Maybe newer... here's an inside pic of this weeks show. The bulkhead, overhead lights, and the dark walnut photo wood panels are the same as my 72 AS.

I just started watching Season 4 on DVD last night and was thrilled to see the Airstream, though it is a shame that Unser isn't doing too well.

Looks like an early 70's model to me. Maybe a 71 or 72, mid to high 20's in length with a rear bath. The overall condition isn't too bad, though he could clean up his camp a little.

The gun rack in the front window was a nice touch though I prefer something more low key, such as a .357 on the credenza, hidden under what looks like a carelessly discarded t-shirt.
