Airstream Earthquake.
Hi, today I had a moving experience. This morning I was planning on pulling my trailer forward to do three things. (1.) I was going to replace the bad plunger switch on my Fantastic fan. (2.) I was going to get the model number off of my refrigerator to see if it is on the recall list. (3.) Hook up my new Yamaha 2400 generator to see how well it runs my 11,000 BTU A/C.
I hooked up my tow vehicle and pulled my trailer out to gain access. I went inside and started takeing my Fantastic vent apart. I brought out my new genny and connected my cable to it, started the genny, and turned on my A/C. I got my ladder to go on top of my Airstream roof to remove the bad plunger switch. I took my ladder down and layed it in my driveway behind my trailer. Then as I was walking toward my trailer because I was going to turn off my A/C and turn off my genny, but before I got to it, my trailer started rocking back and forth, side to side. My first thought was that some one in a car or truck came up my drive way and hit my trailer, but nobody was near it. Come to find out we just had a 5.4 Earthquake less that two minutes after I got off of my roof and took my ladder down. [close call]

Today's good news.
Hi, it might have been a good thing for me to move my trailer, this morning, because it is so close to my house that it might have bounced off of it. You can see how close I park it in my avatar. My Fantastic Fan is working great, my generator runs my A/C with very little effort, and my refrigerator model number is "RM 2662" so I can check the list.
Did anyone else experience an Airstream Earthquake?

Almost "closer" than you park your Aistream to your house .

I was thinking the same thing. You definietly would have scuffed something. Either the house or the trailer or both .

I was on the ladder installing Zip Dee brackets....the earthquake tossed my drill off the ladder and broke it, but I just leaned over towards the trailer and everything was fine. It did roll pretty good, though. Scary stuff.

I was sitting on a Harley in my garage pumping out the gas tank.
These quakes always make my back end clinch. Especially with a bottle of gas in my lap.

Yes, hope all of our Southern California friends check in with us here and all is okay.
I experienced a very small, distant quake in Orange County back in '95 or '96. I was on the 4th floor of a building, and everything just started to sway back and forth. Honestly, it felt like I was drunk or something. I didn't realize what it was until a native California co-worker ran up to me asking if I'd felt "it."
Can honestly say I'd prefer to never feel "it" again, and that one was mild and 60 miles away!
Take care all!
