Question Adrian, TX -- Kneeling Rancher Sculpture

Hopefully someone here can steer us to information we've seen on trips on I-40 between Landergin and Adrian, TX.
There is a metal sculpture of a kneeling rancher with his horse, bowing reverently before a cross, off the south right-of-way at about Mile Post #23.
Each time we pass this sculpture we are fascinated about its meaning and who did such an artful piece of work.

We've done a lot of web-based research on this, but have found nothing, so if you can help us with information on this sculpture, we would be most appreciative.

i have seen those in numerous places and to me it is just a generic sculpture of a COWBOY, his horse and a lost companion....a dog, a friend...whatever....
and the Four P's(Paula, Phoenix and Peabody II and Pearl)…Peabody is here…..
