Wow, Mimi, what a deal!

Are you settled into your new place?

No, not fully settled yet. I'm spending a week at the old place packing and cleaning and then the next week at the new place unpacking and figuring out where things go. I already know that I like the new place better.

Tired, but not exhausted this time. The old place will not be sold until I'm done moving. I refuse to move against a deadline ever, ever again.

Ta-daaa...mine!

Will pick it up in Phoenix the first week of July.

An 07, almost identical to mine in terms of features but for layout and colors inside, with 140,000 fewer miles on it.

It was meant to be.

Thank you.

I’d like to think there is a lot of life and travel left in my years, and I need to be able to get around.

Maggie,
I’m a regular reader of your thread though I have never commented. I’ve been following your current issue regarding the accident and have been concerned even though I don’t know you! I’m so happy that you have found a replacement, this news has made my day! Funny how we connect with people through the written word even though our life paths have never crossed! Who knows we may run into each other down the road, you in your Interstate and me in my 20’ Flying Cloud!
Best wishes and happy travels,
Debbie

Congratulations Maggie! Sounds like it has worked out for good! Looking forward to seeing you on the road again somewhere.

We are in Green River WY on the way to Oregon. We will do Crater Lake, OR coast, Glacier, Yellowstone and Tetons on the way back.

Al

This statement said it all. It made my day!

Now that you have settled with the insurance company and found a replacement Interstate you can get on with your life.

Thanks, all.

Been busy printing out what’s needed to set up a HELOC, meet with them this am and get my check from State Farm probably tomorrow.

Have my trip with the grands coming up, then there will be a flurry of activity to get to Phoenix and then home, but it’s doable.

Hittenstiehl has graciously offered their guesthouse, where I will spend my second night in Phoenix...first night going to overnight at the place selling, to familiarize myself with everything and take care of anything that needs to be before setting out.

RV Master Techs has been excellent to deal with, are going to have the unit detailed and get new tires on before I get there. I think I am in very good hands, and that tickets to Phoenix are CHEAP due to time of year is a plus.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Maggie

Good! Only wish I was located somewhere along your route home. Do you plan to head north and maybe spend a little time around Grand Canyon and then Route 66? I bet you will get nightly invites for free camping from all the people following the threads. How many days to get it home?

One SERIOUS warning - leave a night light on and consider sleeping with shoes on. Stubbed toes are just one serious problem if the bathroom isn't where years of habit say it should be.

Happy trails, Paula

Congratulations on a great solution to your problem of no Airstream. As a Phoenix area resident, the summers are beyond "warm" so bring sunglasses and sunscreen. Seaters are needed for the seemingly freezing restaurants when inside.

When leaving, I suggest going east on US60 and driving thru Salt River Canyon. That is a very picturesque drive. After Show Low continue eastward past Springerville to Quemado, NM and turn north on the east edge of town on Hwy 36. Turn right onto Hwy 117 which will take you to I-40 just about five miles east of Grants. You will have driven through Lava fields and seen a neat stone arch on a small pull off.

Hope you really enjoy the drive home.
