Congrats on the new car. I love that color! With the snows in your area, it should get you around safely. Fun and reliable and pretty....what more could you want? I hope you got a good price, as well.

Thanks, everyone....I can't wait to get it. Noon tomorrow.

I'll pick up the car and get a lesson on usage while Lily is at the vet.

The only add on I accepted was a discounted maintenance package for the exterior and interior. They will fix tears, stains, scratches, dents, dings, etc., smaller than a credit card for the next 8 years for about $9 a month...worth it, to me.

Jane, I knew that you in particular would love the color.

It is a good color for me....when I saw it, I felt it was meant to be.

Done a bit of shopping this morning, while I have sons car...there's a putanesca sauce I want to make, otherwise am going to work on cleaning up things in my freezer from past meals cooked

...tho I do have whole wheat banana bread in my oven.

It just sounded good to me, and I had these ripe bananas...

After that is out and cooling, going to run the Interstate out to storage and walk Lily back.

By then, I'll be ready to be done for the day...a glass of wine and my jammies will be calling to me.

Spring of 2017, and it feels like it's going to be a good year.

Thank you....tho my excitement over the car is beginning to be overshadowed by having to leave Lily at the vet tomorrow.

I hate it.

But, I will deal with it, as the teeth cleaning is what's best for her.

I didn't sleep well last night

, but am home now with the new car and Miss Lily, who I'm told tolerated the teeth cleaning well.

She has the dazed-and-confused, mouth-breather look of a living thing coming out of anesthesia, but is drinking water and doesn't seem too upset with me for doing this to her.

Damian at the Toyota place spent about an hour going over all the features of the car with me, and helped me get my phone connected to the Bluetooth.

Yikes. I can answer the phone from the steering wheel, and did so when my son called on the way home.

At WalMart early this morning, I was looking for something in the Clearance section...an area I just don't go to there...after being directed there by a young man in hardware...and came across these Pioneer Woman dishtowels.

The color is "Wild Roses".

Into my cart they went.

They will be lovely in my kitchen.

Lily apparently has a chipped tooth in the rear of her mouth...the vet asked me if she chewed on fenceposts

, or sticks.

Yes to the rare stick, never a fencepost.

They must get a lot of country dogs in there. Lily is a town dog.

She is definitely a bit uncomfortable, and I have pain meds to give her this evening, but she doesn't seem to be blaming me for it and I'm sure by morning she'll be much better.

Drinking lots of water.

She already seems to be more comfortable, and the anesthesia to have worn off.

Going to give her that half pain pill at bedtime, anyway.

I know....there are roses everywhere I turn, not a one of them a live or fresh rose, but they adorn so many things.

There have never been so many rose things in my life as there are now.

He watches over me, and he wants me to know...that's what I believe.

Good to hear about Lily. The really nice thing about dogs, and why I work with them, is she does not remember the procedure, does not know why she feels the way she does and in no way associates the way she feels with you. Once the anesthesia is out of her system she will be the same Lily.

She was doing pretty well by bedtime last night, past the grogginess, cleaned up her dog food and ate a few soft treats, but I gave her the pain med anyway...just because.

I don't think she will need any today.

I found online a homeopathic, teeth cleaning recipe for dogs...aloe Vera gel and hydrogen peroxide. Going to wipe her teeth down with that at least several times a week and see if that works for prevention.

Won't hurt her, at any rate, and she doesn't mind the taste of it.

There's a car in my driveway, and it's purple.
