Nice that your son keeps you well set up with efficient running electronics. You must be very proud of his skill with computers in addition to all of his other attributes. Now you will be well connected.

I guess I have bragged on him a bit.
I am proud of him, and he is a good man and a wonderful father.
It's all true....sorry if I go on too much.

Nothing to be sorry about at all. I enjoy hearing it. Actually, maybe a bit envious that I don't have one to assist me with mine. LOL! Truly, you are right to be so proud! I have taught myself on computers and other electronics....and am lacking in expertise in the field. It is necessary to move forward with the times, and this includes ever changing technology. There is so much to learn...case in point...not only our iPhones, iPads, nook, etc...but, also this terrific machine, the AI, that leaves SO MUCH to be learned. .??LOL.?

Yes, having my son be very skilled with electronics has been very helpful over the years.
Ran some errands and got my hair cut this morning....errrm, trimmed is a better word, but it gave me an opportunity to visit with the hair cutter, a young woman who has been in my life at least 20 years, who is a truly good person, and who I [I]trust.[/I
Lots and lots of good people out there in the world, a goodly number in my circle of family and friends...and I appreciate them immensely.
Would that all were that way, and you know who you are.

It's a great quote...I don't know who said it, but I found it one day and saved it for when I felt like posting it.
Like today.
I like this one, too.

"Never push a loyal person to the point where they no longer care."
This is good advise & unfortunately appropriate for some in our circle.

Loyalty is a strong feeling, in my opinion, something not easy to give, but given to people you trust and/or you love....or you trust to do what they're supposed to do.
You trust and you believe in them...and then sometimes suddenly you don't, and it's that quick.... and not a good feeling.
The earth shifts a bit under your feet, and you are reminded once again that sociopaths walk among us, masquerading as ordinary people...but they aren't.
This is a good one, too...

Yes a much better outlook!
Got home this weekend & temps around 100 so the heat index is even higher. I bet there are some travel trailers cooking in the sun at Edisto State Beach park today!!

Well, it sounds like you had a great trip, and sampled some mountain air.
100 degrees at Edisto ....much as I love the place, I'm more of a March-and-moderate-temps girl.

We have had a busy, indoor day.
It began with thunderstorms, and more are moving in. The farmers will be happy, as rain for those corn and soybean fields is a good thing.
Watching news reports on weather in KY and TN this past week or so, the area I would have been in in KY got 11 inches of rain...and west of Nashville where I would have been beginning last weekend had tornadoes.
Neither of which would have been good to ride out in the Interstate, nor to have to flee the Interstate and find shelter to avoid being swept away by rising waters or sit out a tornado.
Then, there's Lily, who hates storms. Coming home was a good decision, on several fronts.
Nothing too exciting going on here...tidying up the yard, re-feeding and Preening to prepare for a 3 month absence.
After my visit with Mimi next week, going to spend a night with my sister in law and hers...the SIL who is no longer family, but has always been in the 25 years or so since she and my brother divorced.
One of the best, and most genuine, people I have ever known. I love and appreciate her.
She who is raising her 3 grandchildren, just diagnosed with breast cancer and having surgery on Tuesday.
She's had such a hard life, and it hardly ever seems to let up, but her oldest and youngest child are close and great help.
If you have any prayers to spare or other thoughts of strength to share, send them to Illinois for her, please.
It is late afternoon, and Lily is asking for her carrots. Booger dog.
Maggie

Prayers will be offered for your SIL.
Breast cancer is a scary diagnosis, but there is hope. I am a survivor--not quite 16 years out from diagnosis and doing fine.
Tell her to find a support network among those who have been down that road before her. Some of those folks were especially comforting to me when I was going through it, and they were found in unexpected places.

She's going into it anticipating a lumpectomy, but won't really know how involved it is til they get in there, so we're all hoping for the best.
Cancer is not something my parents or we siblings have ever experienced....a fortunate lot we have been, so there isn't really a frame of reference in our family for this, but we will all figure it out.

I thought about that, too, Gail.
Maybe he had settled in to get me out of there.

I don't need any more coffee mugs, but sometimes I need a particular new one that calls to me...
A nice mug for tea or coffee is one of life's little pleasures, and I have been collecting them for years.
I sent two of Doug's favorite mugs home with Alice on Sunday, for her hot chocolate and her Mom's coffee.
She was delighted, and will cup her hand around those mugs, right where his were, and think of her Grandpa Doug.
I don't let myself indulge in Starbucks very often, but got an iced coffee while out running errands in heat and humidity the other day.
I had to have this one. It called to me.
It is a near perfect mug ....just the right size, sits nicely in your hand, and has that beautiful, etched Starbucks logo on the side,
It makes me smile to use it.

A Different Life II
That makes me smile! My old neighbors & I would have coffee together on Saturday mornings & we always used our favorite cups. They had to be a certain size, with a good handle, just the right thickness, etc. Silly but just part of the coffee clutch routine we had. I miss those days.
