1961 Airstream, Craigslist Eugene, Oregon $1800

The ad on Craigslist doesn't say much.
Check it out at 1961 Classic Trailer.

Could be a good project for someone.

I'm not selling it, so I didn't put it in the classifieds.

Hope it finds a good home.

A shame that all the reasonable units that are out there are usually thousands of miles from me!

Kind of hesitated to post this but this seems like the right spot. Since buying our Airstream people at the office seem to want to report sightings to me. There are 2 about an hour north of Columbus - both supposedly 13 panel ends sitting in two different spots. Another sitting about a mile from the office in Columbus - looks like a mid 70's 25 or 22 footer - can't see it well from the road but first glance it looks like it hasn't been moved in a while. Another that I found out about while opening a set of vintage hubcaps at the local Post Office to check the condition.

The last one belongs to a postal workers dad who is too old to use it - said he had been offered $1,500 and thought it should be worth a little more than that. Gather it's an early 70's model that "he took really good care of". If anyone is interested, and patient, (based on that VERY sketchy description) I could check into them. Let me know.

My buddy is looking for a 13 panel Flying Cloud or Safari. He laments exactly the opposite, which is that all the "good ones" he's seen are back east or so far south he can't get there in time to have a look before they are sold.

I found both of mine within twenty minutes of my house after chasing and losing ones up to two days drive away. My Chevelle was 3 hours away, and I was dealing hard on one 2,600 miles away at the time.

It's funny how it works out - I've read many a hotrod article where people have been looking for years and all over the country only to bump into one just miles or a few hours from their home.

I think the real secret is to give a picture of what you are looking for to everyone you know in the area and see what happens. I am amazed at how frequently a neighbor our workmate will come up and mention they saw an Airstream near their home, now that they know I have one and have seen pictures of it.
