Water Leak in Excella 28'

I just brought an 81 model, this is going to be a home for the foreseeable future but there's so much to do I don't know where to start till it rained. there seem to be two main leaks both above the front seats, above the side windows. I'm guessing that the roof is leaking and then collecting in the plastic insides eventually gathering and dripping through. any advice on where to or haw to begin my search and fix it would be most helpful..

I have good recent experience with a leak detection system that uses a special fan to pressurize the interior, and they search for places where the positive pressure inside is pushing out through seam, joints and seals.

RV leak detection is offered by numerous providers in the US, but I don't know if there are mobile caravan leak detection services in/near Hertfordshire.

The machine they used for mine is called a Sealtech 430r. Sealtech has a list of some providers who use their machine, but they all seem to be in the US and Canada.

I'd start by checking the roof and looking for any split roof seams. There is a seam directly over the cab area. You may also have a leak around one or more of the roof running lights.

thank you, not sure myself but it'll give me a better chance, I've been reading on here about roof caulking so I'm off to grab a ladder and take a look..

Keep in mind that water that comes in through a roof opening can run a long ways inside the ceiling area before it shows up inside. So don't just look for openings right above where the leaks are, the water could be coming from anywhere.

One of the biggest causes of leaks that I've found is the gaskets that seal the air conditioner to the roof. I've had to replace them after just five years of service.

Look at the caulking above the window frames and around the windshield. A new windshield and gasket stopped the biggest leaks and recaulking above the above the side window frames stopped the rest of the leaks in the front of my coach.

thank you all for you're help on inspection there's a lot of re-caulking to be done so I'll try the hose trick first and see whats needed before doing the lot. cheers Josh
