I am renovations our 345 classic and going with a vinyl wood floor and they come in glue down or floating. What is the best way? Glue down or floating floor?

we used floating, click-together flooring and would use the same stuff again. No movement or noise on the road, and it can be taken apart and put back together as needed.

Do not use the peel and stick. I did and even with meticulous prep, it has shrunk in both dimensions. Replacing with floating laminate. Heavier, but it will be the last floor I have to install. Best wishes

Thank you for the intel! Also what type of underlayment or vapor barrier should I use? I would like it to be as insulated as possible. Also, do you think I can sue the same flooring over the engine and under the passenger and driver seat?

Our laminate is heavy too, at least 1/2” thick. We laid it directly on the subfloor, but a vapor barrier is probably a good idea. I think that I saw that Bob Miller put a heating system under the floor in his 370, an even better idea if you go where it’s chilly. Not sure that I am enough of a carpenter to make it work in the cockpit and doghouse, left carpet there.

I might be wrong but I think Dan (Smartstream) might have installed wood flooring in the cockpit area.

If so maybe he could post pictures of his installation.

Damn Brad you have a good memory, you wouldn't believe how long it took me to find these old pictures.

Anyway I used Brazilian Teak because according to the specs it is very hard and stable size wise with changes of humidity, also got a great deal. It isn't too bad to cut but it eats saw blades. Measure and cut accurately because there is no give, it either fits or it doesn't. I glued it and screwed it down. I will say I replaced a click together cork floor which I liked but it didn't last very well with our Great Dane. The Teak has held up very well however two planks seemed to have shifted a bit and I have no idea why or how.
