Veneer the old cabinets

Has anyone tried veneering your old cabinets? I've been looking at the pressure sensitive veneer. Do you think this will stick to those old aluminum cabinets with that old covering on it?

Yes & no.

We re-veneered some of our cabinets in our '56 safari...but they were all wood and striped down of the finish. We did not use the pressure sensitive type of veneer - we used the traditional veneers with contact cement. They turned out great - no problems and it's been a couple of years now.

I don't think I'd try the pressure sensitive stuff, especially over "aluminum cabinets with that old covering on it" though...it's just not as sticky as real old-time contact cement. Especially with the extreme temperature swings your Airstream endures. It's too much work to not have it hold up.

I'm definitely concerned about the wide fluctuation in climate. Very wet and cold in winter and very dry 110 degree weather in summer.
