Believe it or not, it's a periscope. Wonder if they ever used it.

That had crossed my mind. Can you imagine...something right out of "True Lies".

When the Olympics were in L.A in the early 80's Airstream made their Argosy motorhomes into buses to use at the airport for transportation. They looked like those rental car buses. They have always had a commercial department that takes care of special orders.

They say the removed all the communication gear but I bet it was a secret rolling Krispy Kreme Machine!

I'll get it in the archives before the auction ends!

I have a picture of one that Howard Dean used last year in his failed Presidential bid. Oh by the way, both political candidates that have used an Argosy (Robert Reich and Howard Dean) in their campaigns have lost. I also will be posting a picture of the blue Argosy used by Robert Reich.

Oh, man Rich... you can't POSSIBLY have a command van without a periscope! How would you know when you're at the surface without it?

I found my pictures of the Airstream hearse in Nashville. This one had been refitted inside as sort of a day tour bus (no sleeping accommodations, no bathroom). Wouldn't this make a killer tailgating vehicle? (Sorry!)
