Screen door measurements
Just recently bought a 1985 345 and there was no screen door. It seems that everyone I call needs the measurements of the screen door which I do not know. If someone could please let me know the measurements I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Brian

Brian,
Congradulations on your "new" 345. The screen door sits inside of your door frame. I'm not near mine but I'll try and measure it up for you tonight.

Brian:
Welcome to the Forums!!!
Prior to making a purchase you may want to visit the "Forum Get-together" October 22, 23, and 24 at Cloudland Canyon, just to the North of you.
The hinge mount and latch of the screen door is not the normal "Home Depot and Lowe's" hardware.....you may want to take pictures and confirm measurements of other units prior to shelling out any cash. The screen doors have a curve to them, and a cut-out for the main door handle, making a verbal description difficult.
You might find that a screen assembly out of a mid 80's trailer may be modified for the MoHo - then again, maybe not.
One thing for sure, there should be 7 Motor Homes that you will be able to inspect, ask questions of, and take your own measurements - bring a camera with LOTS of media - no sense reinventing the wheel.
Check out this thread.

Hope to see you there!

Thanks for the help
Thanks for all the help. I do beleive I have found a screen door from Arizona RV salvage. The measurements match what you gave but the lady I spoke with wasn't sure what model Airstream the screen door came off of. Does it matter what model the screen door came off of? Thanks again for the help and pictures saved me a lot of time and frustration.

Absolutely - I know that a lot of the mid 80's trailers have identical widths, and I think that the body/roof curvature is identical, but many (if not all) of these type of trailers came with "suicide" doors - doors that are hinged to the left when you look at them from the outside.....MoHo doors are hinged to the right - the same as modern cars.
Don't know how easy the switch from left to right would be.
I would suspect that all of the "classic" motor home doors (until the early/mid 90's switch to the wide body) would be interchangeable.

Dennis,
Nice pics. I like the screen gaurd on your door. I was looking at this up at AS but at $80 for the top and bottom I decided I might try and fabricate some up.
