Keyless entry system operation?

Today, after some detailed looking through the original owners manual, I found a hand written note simply saying "LOCK #####" where ##### was a 5 digit number. I tried the 5 digit number on the keyless entry pad and heard a click. The door was still not locked so I locked it with a key and found that entering the number unlocked the door. My question is: Is the keypad only used to unlock the door? Do you still need to lock the door manually with a key? Is there a way to lock the door without a key?

This is on a 1992 36' Landyacht motorhome.

On my 91 classic if you press the last two buttons together it will lock the dead bolt. When you dial the numbers to unlock the dead bolt it should also light the isle lights to see your way in at night. Mine does none of this as the servo that operates the lock is dead but soon I will have that fixed.

BINGO!!! That works on mine too. Pressing the last two buttons locked the door. After re-entering the unlock code it unlocked the door and turned the isle lights on for about 30 seconds and then turned them off. I guess my keyless system is working as intended.

Thanks a bunch for all your help. So much is NOT in the owner’s manual. It always feels great when you find the answer to one more mystery to these illustrious Air Stream Land Yachts.

After entering your code to unlock the door, on mine if you push the 2/3 button and the 5/6 button you unlock the storage doors and driver side door.Might do the samething on yours.

I don't know if all keyless entry systems include hook up to the outside storage compartments, but on mine it does. When the last 2 buttons are pressed it locks not only the dead bolt but all the outside storage doors and driver's door. Then when the code is entered the entry door unlocks, and if followed by the 5/6 the storage unlock, and the 3/4 (there is no 2/3 button as I posted before) unlocks the driver's door.

This code thing sounds like another one of those tests for "oldtimers"

Just checked my keyless entry for the other options. Looks like the 5/6 after code entry does unlock all the lower compartments but only if the locks are manually set to the override setting. Seems that the key will set the locks to either open, locked or keypad override mode. When set to keypad override the compartment locks will react to the keyless entry button 5/6 immediately after primary code entry. Pressing the last two buttons does lock all.

Sometimes when I close the knife switch on the battery my doors lock and all storage doors lock. I did not get a key fob when I purchased the coach used. There must be a controller but I can't find it Any Help out there? 1996 33 FT Land Yacht. Zagos 24

Mine was behind a panel in the back of the kitchen sink cabinet. My kitchen area is curbside so if yours is the same it may be located there too.

Man you guys are living the good life. My key pad does no of those things. It does do this though:

If I hold down 1/3/9/7 the jack stands come down and it self levels

If I hold down 4/1/9/8/7/6 the compartment doors unlock and open

Then if I hold down 5/4/4/2/1 the power cord and hose slither out like a snake and hook themselves up.

But you guys have all the cool features I'm so jealous!!
