Instrument lights

I have mounted a gage and switchs etc on the dash
of my MH 1985 325. I noticed while working
in this area that a couple of the little dash lights that are glued to the back side of the lettering were not glued in place and where hanging free. The glue dried up I would guess.
Anyway I have never run across this type of light
fixture. It is a very small bulb with very very
small wires.

Does anyone have any knowledge about this set up and how to go about repairing them?

Thanks,ODD

Same thing on the 86/87 345

Use a drop of "super glue" or mixed epoxy.

The crafty type of hot glue works, but only if you can get the glue down below the base (around the wires), otherwise it gets hot and melts.

Plus RTV is easy to get off if you need to change bulbs.

change bulbs........

Only way to do that (change bulbs) is to get in there with a couple of heat sinks and soldering iron.

By the way, the next time I'm in there I will probably do away with at least one of the "problem" lights. The "Water in Fuel" light to be specific, since this is for the Diesel water/fuel separator, and for some strange reason flickers on and off.
