I am looking for a windshield for my Airstream Motohome.
I am looking for a windshield for my Airstream Motohome.
I have been working hard on repairing my Airstream Motohome in Japan.
Is it still possible to buy a windshield in the U.S.?
If you know of any suppliers of windshields, could you please let me know?

Hi tomozoh33
Welcome to forums.
The windscreen is one of the few parts readily available in the US, and even in UK. The supplier is Coach Glass ( https://coachglass.com/) - they supply Airstream.
Not sure if there is a Japanese distributor and I can share they are not easy to ship. A collection of owners in Europe got together and purchased around 10 so that they had a ready supply - only a couple arrived undamaged!

Thanks for your reply!!!
Hello Martin300662!
Thank you for sharing about how to obtain a windshield.
We have emailed the manufacturer and received a reply from their representative.
In case you are wondering, it is AirStream Motorhome, can you tell me the year of manufacture from the Serial....
Can you find out the year from the glass manufacturer? I was asked.
The Serial of the AirStream Motorhome I am repairing is 1GBJP37N3M33016xx. Is there any way to find out the year from the Serial?
Sorry for all the questions.

Hi tomozoh33
It is possible to read lots of information about the chassis from the VIN using a VIN decoder.
However the information you need relates to the coach (which Airstream add to the chassis). The Airstream VIn should show that.

The “Classic Motorhomes” section of the forum has a VIN “sticky thread”, post #21 explains the two types of VIN numbers. When I had a windshield replaced many years ago the vendor only needed the numbers off of the glass itself, those should be at them bottom curb side on yours.

There is a number printed on the windshield itself. I believe that’s all you’ll need to identify the proper replacement. Airstream used the same windshield glass for many years and your 1984 is within that time frame. Should be no problem buying one but as Brad noted, shipping will be the challenge. The number is printed in a small square box located in the bottom corner of the glass. I think it’s near the center post.
I just replaced both sides on my ‘82 this past summer. I contacted Safelight Auto glass and they coordinated the purchase and install of the windshields. If you have Safelight in Japan I would highly recommend them, made the process very simple. GOOD LUCK!
