Funny- Just the other day I was saying wouldn't it be great have something like that to tow our Safari around with. Do you need two sets of numbers for a rig lke that?

That actually is pretty funny. I can think of all kinds of attachments to augment the "look"!! Strange what some folks will do.

I can understand the motivation, but it seems a great deal easier to just buy a classic moho. Ron

Actually in the early '70's there was a company that bought Airstream trailers and mounted them on Dodge truck chasis to make motor homes. This may be one of them. They looked suprisingly professional in their design and execution. I have wondered if this is where Airstream got the idea for their Argosy, and eventually, Airstream motorhomes.

Is that possible? A Ford 400, a C-6 and front wheel drive? Hmmm... Maybe it has one really slow speed forward, and three in reverse with a rear-engine and radiator?

I'd swear this was the unit I saw in eBay about 3-6 months ago. I communicated with the seller. It was an unusual machine to say the least.
If I reacall correctly the seller was in Texas, but it was so long ago, I can't say for sure.....

Look how low the front tire is then even with that how low the rear end sits. The seller states "low Mileage" and that could be due to the fact it never ran. What a weird looking vehicle this is.

If it wasn't for the tag/drag axle it would be hard to figure out if that one was coming or going.
Has anyone seen the pristeen 84 270 on eBay? Low mile hanger queen for sure. eBay Motors: 1984 Airstream 270 Excella Motor Home Coach (item 250058791615 end time Dec-17-06 15:00:00 PST)
Bidding at $15,600 so far with almost four days left to run. This one should be worth watching.... or if you're in the market for a gas job...one to buy!

Taking a closer look at that picture it looks to be mid engined? Look in the open side hatch...anybody near Tuscon want to go look at it for "us" Can't recall ever seeing a FWD (frnt whl dr ) Ford package before especially not with a 460 and C-6.

Not too many 1 owner units out there from 1984 in this nice of shape that I've seen at this price.

Would make a nice unit for someone.

It's a beauty alright. If I were in the market, I'd be interested in this one for sure.

too bad it was not listed on the forums

Boy I agree , a single owner garaged vehicle with all the records!!! and rebuilt engine, tranny, etc. But we are too attached to our 345. Of course if a polished 1979 24 ft excella moho shows up we may have to add to the stable!! just for the smaller campgrounds of course

One of the missing 370s????????

Maybe it's one of the mysteriously missing 370LEs that is not accounted for . If so, it appears to have sat out in a field since 1989 while some kids reconfigured the outside aluminum. And I thought finding parts for a factory MoHo was difficult!

I didn't see that one, but I did see a picture where someone had taken a 34' Avion trailer, removed the running gear, mounted it to a flatbed trailer, and pulled it with something like a Peterbuilt tractor. Odd, but interesting . I'd hate to run to the camp store, however, in a tractor for an 18-wheeler. Lining up at the dump station must have been a little tricky also.
