Question Gas tank sending unit questions

My gas gauge is not working on my 76 argosey 28.0 MH
I was wondering if any of you all have had the joy of dropping the gas tank and putting in a new sending unit? Is the sending unit just your standard chevy p-30 gas tank unit or a unit just made for motor homes only?
Also any tips on dropping the tank would be great too!
Thansk,Alex

Are you sure it is the sender? Power flow is from the gauge to the sender, check for voltage at the sender. The senders are standard 0-90 ohm but do have a shorter separate pickup for the generator.

drain the tank, and be careful with the rubber hose you will go into shock if you have to replace. if it is the sendor in the tank you will have to repair. it is a resistor .

I grounded the sending wire from the gauge and the gas gauge starts going up.
So your saying the restistor just needs to be replaced? Is a replacement sender not available anymore?
Thanks,Alex

The resistor is not a separate part, you will need the whole sender. RV junkyards, GM, maybe but they are dropping the P3x parts, Workhorse. Just make sure it has the pickup for the generator.
